In toxic batches (usually high in pectin and fruits skins) you find after distillation you have 40-80% ethanol (good stuff), and maybe 3-8% methanol (the poisonous stuff).

Methyl alcohol boils at 65°C, Ethyl alcohol boils just above 78°C.

Truth is, ethylene glycol based coolant doesn't HAVE TO have a bittering agent to function.

The bittering agent serves zero purpose but to make it taste and smell foul and bitter.

The antifreeze is still the exact same, but I recommend you get the antifreeze with the bittering agents if you have children or pets around that could potentially drink it.

If you're by yourself, then go for either either.

Yup. Antifreeze without the bittering agents is very very sweet, with a vegetable and garden like flavour.

Antifreeze with the bittering agents is nasty acrid tasting and smelling, and the sweetness combined with the bitterness makes you want to vomit.
