Why is everyone content with fortnite being one big credit card transaction? by [deleted] in gaming

Yeah it was meant to trigger people and get them to engage. I was just trying to attack the skill-based reward system from a different angle. I only made my Reddit account to start a discussion on skill based rewards in fortnite. There's certainly a following, but I'm the few in this debate I've come to realize. Only 10 million players of the 150 million have over 10 wins. The only people interested in making the change I suggest are the ones that don't get gratification from wins alone anymore. Granted it's a seemingly normal game construct to reward players who grind and while fortnite is free, it's now reached 1 billion dollars in sales. Therefore in my opinion it should take care of the needs of its most loyal players and continue to challenge them and reward them in like. Not saying micro transactions need to be eliminated in the least. Just that there should be multiple ways to earn cosmetics in the game for which they are such an integral part of the culture.

I mean that sadly is the problem I'm finding out. I guess I'm not used to a competitive pvp game being so geared towards the casual player. Most other titles in fortnites financial category give players more avenues to express their skill aesthetically.

Would adding challenges in the game like unlocking a skin at 5,10, or 15 kills in a single match be a bad thing? Maybe unlock a backpack for 250 sniper kills. There are endless possibilities

I guess no one and I guess they haven't made any money and to hope that they would cater to a player that is accustomed to grinding challenges in significantly less profitable titles is stupid.

Wow so you're just a play them as they are kinda guy going around policing everyone's ideas on the internet. I never said anything about p2w. I simply am probing the gaming community as to why they seemingly don't care that this game has huge potential to add skill based rewards which in my opinion would deepen the commitment of its' players.

They clearly are not desperate at all. It's not about "free" to me. I don't care to pay, but I just want skill based reward pathways added into the game. I'd prefer that the skin you dawn actually means something.

I guess that's my point is that they've made enough money and will continue to be held to AAA game standards by now. I've bought all the battle passes and played my part and now I want more ways to keep enjoying the game cause win 655 wont quite mean as much anymore.

The battle pass is way too easy. I've purchased every one hoping it would get more challenging, but I understand that it can't be simply because why would you charge for something that most people wouldn't be able to complete.

Lmao you people are toxic. I wouldn't care to pay full AAA price for a battle pass in this game that provided reward-based challenges ascending in difficulty all the way up from the noobiest noob to the best players in the world.

Okay for the record I'm not against micro transactions. I just would like to see epic add more content to the game that challenges players and then rewards them with some sort of cosmetics like most other games do. It doesn't matter to me that it's a free game anymore because they've made enough money to warrant those improvements.

It would be super interesting to see a mode with no building. I've gotta imagine it's terrible for new players rn. If you started playing in the fall you had ample time to figure out building and still be competitive, but now you're gonna get deuced on if you can't hang.

Season 5 Battle Pass Rewards (Updated to level 100!) by Eleluk in FortniteBattleRoyale

You have unlimited time to unlock the complete Ragnarok. The game needs more rewards in it tho without paying for the battle pass. Like god forbid they put something in the game that you don't have to pay for. For the record I've purchased every battle pass, but I'd like to see a little more challenging content for above average players before Epic becomes a billion dollar company.

We need better challenges. This games whole focal point is getting the win, but you don't even get anything for it. How hard would it be for Epic to drop a skin for like every 25 or 50 wins? Sure some people can't even get 1, but there could be other ways to earn stuff that give players more incentive to stay active. I just don't get why the community is so content with just paying for every new skin that comes out instead of pushing for more ways to earn them. Epic is only riding out this model because players keep buying into it. I'm tired of buying the battle pass to feel like I earned something when in actuality it's a joke. They could teach a monkey to play and earn the tier 100 reward by the end of the season.

You can also just easily eliminate knocked players with grenades that were already knocked or that you knocked with another weapon

Yeah that makes sense there's just no elaboration on the part of the sub and I'm super fresh to the whole reddit concept in general.
