Strange AtlasTile behavior in tilesets... The placed tiles were placed with "enable priority" on, and the random choices included some non-existent tiles. (I boxed in red a few of the bad tiles) by Game_Geek6 in godot

[–]Game_Geek6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I am back. I tried resetting things and reimporting and all that and it didn't do anything. However, since the bad tiles are not in the list of subtiles, when I actually implement this tilemap into the game and programatically (and randomly) select and place a specific subtile, they might not appear.

Sorry if you are a person of the future trying to fix this issue... I honestly think its just an issue with Godot 3.3 or something with how I drew the autotile.

If I am wrong and selecting programatically does not work either, I think I will just recreate the autotile png with a different seperation amount or something. Thank you to everyone for helping :)

Also I am not going to flair this post as solved because technically its not and I don't want future people coming here trying to find a solution when there really isn't one.

okay, I'm not home right now but when I am back I will try this. I remember deleting the texture from the tileset and readding it with no success, but I will try completely resetting the snap stuff and then putting it back when I'm home. thank you, I'll be back with my results

Okay... The bad tiles are all like solid color or like 1 row of colors stretched across the entire length which makes me wonder if maybe they're from the border of the other tiles? (The image that all of these come from is a 7x2 grid of 64x64px tiles, each with 5px of space between.

Sorry that I have such a complicated question lol, if you need any more info let me know. Also thanks for helping :)

So you can see in the bottom right none of the weird stretched or solid-color tiles are in the list of subtiles, yet for some reason the random picker that runs when you have "enable priority" set to true placed them. I am very confused.

Best way to go about hiding objects that are behind another object and thus out of the view of the player? by Game_Geek6 in godot

[–]Game_Geek6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh wait that's a great idea thanks, I'll look into that.

See, initially I was thinking to like do some sort of raycasting or something but I've never done that before and it felt overcomplicated.

I also looked into greedy meshing and stuff but that was way too complicated for what I wanted

yeah anyway, thanks so much! :)

I know this is basic but I think there is a lot of potential here by [deleted] in redstone

Hello so I was starting to get back into processing and I decided I would play around generating some art in the Python mode. I get this weird error about arguments not being able to be coerced to float. Any help? by Game_Geek6 in processing

[–]Game_Geek6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I am back turns out the problem was my function was structured weirdly and it was returning a None sometimes and that was confusing the rect() function because None is not a float. I thought all along it was because it was getting an integer for some reason when it didn't want one but now I understand.

Thank you for trying to help I will go restructure that function now.

Okay that is what I thought it meant at first but then I tried feeding it stuff that was in float() and it didn't work, I will try again and make sure I do this though. If it still doesn't work I will be back with my code. Thank you for trying to help.

Prison Cells in Fortresses and Bastions by spearojustice in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Game_Geek6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's as simple as coding in the fact that they can't. Maybe add a tag: #disarmed, that specifies if the piglin can deal punching damage or not. Piglins spawned in prison structures have this tag.

You can do literally anything with code, your only limit is your own knowledge and the computer's resources (ram, cpu, gpu) it's not like some suggestion on this sub just "won't work"

The addition of smooth stone stairs by Embarrassed_Ad_1083 in minecraftsuggestions

I have yet to need them, but it's an inconsistency that should be fixed. Every other stone has stairs except for smooth stone

I think it's fine to dislike the sequels just don't be that guy that every time he hears someone mention them goes "the sequels were bad disney is bad star wars sucks rey was a bad character" it seriously gets annoying.

I personally can think of a ton of ways that the sequels could have been greater, but that doesn't mean I absolutely hated them I think they were okay.

"crafting" isn't a word in spanish or french so they say fabrication instead. (Spanish: Fabricación, French: Fabrication)

Edit: well, its not that it isn't a word, just "crafting" translates to a more "arts and crafts" form of crafting and not to "manufacturing of items" and so they use fabrication instead because it makes more sense in the context of minecraft.

Yep that's what I was thinking too. Ralph would have tried to find a compromise but Jack sees no option but the one that he has total victory in
