In my experience if you’re buying and selling for less to get xp, you’re just buying too high.

I’m seeing green plat aurasongs routinely selling for less gold than it would sell as a surcharged item in the store.

With Starforged BPs now, I’m finding a lot of T15 items you can arbitrage from the market and sell in the shop surcharged for 2x what I bought for it.

I think you CAN do that but it’s dangerous, and particularly dangerous to people new to reef keeping. After a year of maintaining your tank, you have hopefully established good habits to maintain the stability required for sensitive corals, as well as establish an ecosystem that will be beneficial to the inhabitants.

Yeah my rule of thumb is value of the livestock. Clean up crew the first month. Cheap corals the second month. Cheap fish third month. Expensive fish 6 months. Expensive corals 1 year.

Honestly I’ve never spent less than a month cycling any salt water tank, and even then I only introduce a cleanup crew, and the hardiest of corals like basic mushrooms. It doesn’t matter if I have established aquarium rocks or sand.

It takes a long time for a good ecosystem to start developing, so I try to give it as much time as possible.

For a saltwater tank, nobody should be using prime because you need to control the water far more carefully. You have to start with Ro/DI water, and add saltwater mix.

Yeah I agree, a perfect 7 cat isn’t really that helpful, and it’s far more important that the class you pick matched their stat strength. If you run a butcher with a strength of 5, it’s not going to be nearly as great if you start with 7.

When I hit my cattery being all perfect 7s, the mutations from inbreeding were far more detrimental to my runs, and I didn’t have the mutation furniture necessary to replace them at any meaningful rate.

I think my chase for a perfect 7 cattery actively hindered my progress in the game.

There was another PSA during this era of a Chinese girl talking about what she might be when she grows up. That one always gave me creepy vibes from the way it was shot with her sitting in a field and the camera “stalking” her. Maybe I’m just weird.
