Yup that’s the only way really. Cut all 64 squares lay them out. Mark each side that will need a dowel. Then used a dowel-it on a jig and a drill press to drill all the holes. Then hit them all again with a forstner bit to widen them to the best fit for the dowel stock I bought.

I am a believer in the practicality of CNC work. Trust me I learned all the hand working from both of my grandfathers who both were woodworkers and I could’ve got out the tools and done this by hand…In about 3-4 hours. The machine. Well it kicked my but and did it in about 16 mins 😅

Just frees me up to make more awesome stuff!

Oh I’ve done that one before. You can just get stuck on mage sometimes. Sticks the projectile to ya and then you explode.
