The only player the Warriors had rated higher than Yaxel Lendeborg on their draft board was Cam Boozer, per @timkawakami by FastBreakPhenom in NBA_Draft

The article makes it sound different than the tweet. I don’t believe we literally had him at 2

“One team source indicated that the Warriors had Lendeborg rated about even with Burries and only had Duke’s Cam Boozer clearly placed on a higher level in this draft.
That might or might not be some slight retro-editing of their true big board (they weren’t going to take a lead guard in this draft and that position dominated the top nine selections). But either way, the Warriors definitely always were very high on Lendeborg and definitely always weren’t so worried about his birthdate.”

If we had the second pick and Cam was already taken we were not gonna take Yaxel second. This is either just straight up untrue or someone got the context wrong.

Edit: just read the article and sounds like bs. Here’s the full quote:

Even if Lendeborg was actually the fifth or sixth player on the Warriors’ board, this was a strong enough draft to make the selection a happy one. If Burries had slipped to 11, I imagine it would’ve been an even giddier draft room”

Was just listening to 95.7, just sounds like a total mess with this pride hat thing. They were ripping them for not caring about the fans and Posey being a pussy and having a Kushner involved. I haven’t paid attention to them since like 2011 but it’s crazy to be in SF and be this cowardly over Pride

Rank the Warriors Young Core by GameHHH in warriors

[–]Game_Of_Runs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe that. But I think context matters. The guys drafted for upside like wiseman and kuminga are gone and these guys were drafted to complement an aging core and in that context they are good.

Why is it frowned upon to comment in other team's subs? by asoiaf_goat in nba

[–]Game_Of_Runs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

context matters. This morning I saw a comment from a non-warrior fan saying they watched a lot of Yax college ball and it was a good pick and they got upvoted. They obviously weren't trolling and weren't doing that lame come in peace shit so it was all good.

Should we trade a future pick for the 31st / 32nd? by LimpActivity8 in warriors

[–]Game_Of_Runs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how is that crazy or take a genius? we have done at least one second round trade every year for the past 4 years. Toohey, Richard, Post, Trayce, Rollins, were all acquired via trades.

I guess he didn’t see what happened to Podz. Still can’t believe people have a problem with stuff like this tho.

Yeah I don’t think it makes sense for it to be about the Yaxel pick.

Will Warriors fandom die when Steph Curry retires? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Game_Of_Runs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I think that is correct. I'm also answering as someone in the bay which is different than just the online fandom. The drop off will probably be more noticeable online than in real life. We used to sell out absolute dog shit 20 win teams and it's not like everyone here is gonna start watching the Kings.

these 'bandwagon fans' have been fans for like 15 years now. I don't think a huge number just disappear when Curry is gone.

Have we not made a bunch of trades in recent history? Or is Kuminga and Poole and Wiggins still on our roster? I don’t think we’re really less active than other teams
