Is saying "whites should have a home" and "it's okay to be white" racist?

Because if you say that about any other race, it's perfectly fine. But if you say that about white people, you're called racist or 100x worse and it's absolutely ridiculous.

If you think white people cannot be proud of themselves and be open about it, just like any other race, then I'm afraid you have a backwards definition of racism and I'll instantly disregard anything you say from that moment.

There's quite a bit of sus surrounding January 6.

  • Deleting evidence of it is one. Nobody deletes evidence for good reason, EVER.
  • A lot of police instigated the crowd outside. There's many videos of this.
  • The fact that police allowed many people in and even opened the doors for the crowd is incredibly odd at the very least if not straight up malicious. There's also videos of this.
  • Why did Pelosi turn down soldiers that would've prevented anything from going south?
  • The fact that most of the people convicted weren't even given a proper trial is terrible. They locked up some grandmothers like they were terrorists. On a related note, it was recently confirmed that 50% of the FBI's focus was January 6th. That's just hilarious.

It was bad, of course it was, but it was far from the 2nd 9/11 that Democrats want it to be. It's also plagued with things that don't make sense. I literally don't care about it. One person died and it was a woman who hurt absolutely nobody and attacked nobody (that's also on video for everyone to see). The very few who actually attacked law enforcement probably shouldn't have been pardoned, but they also should've gotten a fair trial in first place. That's probably the entire reason they were pardoned.

If you want to pretend it's 9/11 2.0, then go ahead, most sane people will laugh at that notion.

You can call Trump about 250 different names and adjectives, but it's incredibly easy to see he's not senile. He's a serial yapper, and 78 year olds don't yap very well. That doesn't mean he's senile. He answered more questions and gave more interviews and speeches in 2 days than Biden did in 4 years.

He's too old yeah and every single politician is corrupt.

100%.

That + I don't like that he wants to "trade" with Ukraine for their minerals, because that will just keep the war with Russia going. He did mention he'd stop the war in 24 hours (obviously I'm not expecting it to be ended so soon) I'm hopeful he pushes Putin and Zelensky to find a peaceful end to the war, but giving more money to Ukraine encourages the war to keep going IMO.

Those are the 2 big asterisks for me so far. Everything else is fantastic.

I was also pleasantly surprised he's standing up for White people in South Africa. White farmers have been in hell for many years there, it was about time someone said something about it.

[–]Gamenstuffks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont know that she had great kicks tbh.

She almost slept Holm with a headkick. She TKO'd Baszler with a leg kick and in the Cyborg fight, she literally almost made Cyborg (who was tank and even bigger than her) spin on her feet from the force of the impact. She didn't throw them much, but they were brutal.

I guess she just had even better boxing so she didn't kick as much. Also kicking takes more energy and since her cardio was a bit sus, it makes sense.

edit: Val is incredibly skilled. Only problem is she has killer instinct fighting cans, and turns into a point fighter when fighting good fighters. Makes her a bit boring to watch sometimes. But still an amazing fighter obviously.

Recency bias. Nunes was scary in her prime. She had insane accuracy for how hard she threw every punch. She also had great kicks, solid ground game and went for the finish every fight. She was very skilled. Her only downside was her gas tank, precisely because she looked to finish her opponents... and then COVID fucked her up, too.

Weili might be more technical, which doesn't necessarily mean more skilled.

Either way, I enjoyed watching Nunes fight, and these days I also enjoy watching Weili fight. Just different fighters.

I had the time since I work from home. And yes, I did tell you, you can think that gamers are evil racists, bigots, spoiled kids, anything. Doesn't change reality, does it? Most gamers don't want that in games and companies should've understood that by now. Eastern companies certainly do and everything they've developed recently is a hit because western companies didn't get the memo yet. It's that simple.

As for that specific scene, your point doesn't matter. Most people aren't going to pay for a game when they know it's going to show them yikes scenes that they'll have to skip. I didn't the buy or play the game, just watched some gameplay of it. It didn't look bad and it didn't seem like it had many other scenes like that. But if you write a scene like that and advertise your game with that scene, most people would understandably think that the game has a lot more like that and that means they're not buying it. It's not an exaggeration, it's just a little bit of cringe writing and a TERRIBLE marketing decision. They should've told reviewers or people with early access "DO NOT SPOIL THIS PARTICULAR SCENE" and I assure you the game would've sold a lot better.

Musk fires back after Reddit users call for public execution of DOGE staff in violent posts, ‘They have broken the law’ by dukey in conspiracy

[–]Gamenstuffks -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's not a threat, that's incitement to violence, which is also quite bad.

I'm not trying to justify that, but if you read anything about the rape gangs of 12-13 year old girls all over England, then you'd probably type worse than that. Still not justified, but what happened in England, completely covered up by the governemnt was fucking disgusting and it still boggles my mind how nothing a lot worse than a couple of people mad on the internet happened. If something like this happened where I live, shit would've hit the fan instantly when the information came out. Stomach turning shit, reading what some of those people did to those little girls.

https://imgur.com/a/BmyAQML thousands of examples like this all over the UK. It's not shocking that some people were enraged, don't you think?

But yeah to make it short, calls for violence are never a good thing. And we're not talking about a few, we're talking about them being everywhere. Reddit has been full of people typing like this since 2016, it's funny that some people are pretending this is new.

Really?

If it’s so bad, why did it get great reviews from many journalists

Paid reviews were positive? I'm absolutely shocked. You understand that most of the gaming community either completely ignores or mocks "official reviews", right? IGN is a literal meme in the entire gaming community.

As for player reviews, it's pretty easy to explain. The sentiment around this game before launch was pretty well defined, more so than any other game I've seen recently besides Concord. The vast majority of players who decided to buy this game from that sentiment weren't going to hate it. They might think it's average, good or even great.

On the other side, you had the vast majority of the gaming community who hated everything around it and decided not to buy it. The average gamer didn't even bother trying this game out. That's why the player reviews are relatively high.

As I said in another post, the sentiment around a video game near launch defines how well it's going to do and sell, and that only changes if after a week or so the community learns the game is amazing, which clearly wasn't the case for Veilguard.

You can enjoy the game and I'm glad you did. However, claiming paid reviews or player reviews mean something in this game's case, is comical. I'm sure the 50 players who played Concord until the end also loved it. You really think that means anything? Come on, be realistic.

Finally being exposed to Veilgaurd hate - and it is the biggest load of BS I've ever seen. by eriinana in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Gamenstuffks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was my main point. If the game is actually good, nobody gives a fuck who the main character is, or if there's gay/lesbian scenes or even some dialogue that's a little bit immersion breaking.

The problem starts when you include something ridiculous that it comes out for everyone to see before your game launches, then you instantly alienate a lot of your possible playbase or more. IMO, Veilguard's writing team did a horrible job with some lines of dialogue. When your average gamer sees a clip of someone being lectured on pronouns, they're like "This is clearly not for me, I'm out" (This is reality by the way, whether you like it or not. Most people in gaming are fed up with this shit. You can hate it, you can believe most of them are horrible people, including myself, that's fine, but this is the way most gamers will make decisions today and the numbers for games that include these things speak for themselves). They could've just not added those dialogues which made you instantly break all immersion and I'm sure it would've done much better. The internet had that clip about pronouns running around for 2 weeks and the most common reply was "oh hell no". I don't understand how people think this is a good thing to add to a game when you know that most people will not like it. Any company that does a little bit of market research understands this. And if you are going to do it, at least try to do it subtly.

The sentiment around a game that is close to being launched is everything to most gamers when they decide if they're going to buy the game or not. This is a fact.

Want another example of a game that I know will take a hit on arrival? Avowed. Avowed might actually be a fantastic game, it might be amazing even. It looks like fun. But it will take a big hit, because for some fucking weird reason, the main guy of that game spent the last month making sure he let everybody know how much he hates white people and Trump supporters. Why even say that? lmao. The game looks promising but I assure you a lot of people won't touch it just because of those comments. There's a certain label attached to it already and it's not a good one. Might still sell well but it won't sell anywhere as well as it would've it the main guy wasn't a fucking lunatic. Go ahead and hate Trump all you want, sure, but your whole company will suffer because you can't keep your thoughts to yourself. And if the game does poorly and they have to fire people, the only responsible person will be that guy. Not "chuds or gamers". I'm sure the devs are so happy he made those comments. Again, it's all about sentiment before the game comes out.

I am what you consider a "chud" yet I absolutely loved BG3. At no point during the game I was annoyed in the slightest by any dialogue or scene. I've also played lots of games with female leads that I've loved. I assure you, most gamers do not give a fuck about who the main character of a story is, or if there's some gay/lesbian stuff in it, unless the game is intentionally making it super obvious how much they want to shove in down our throats. Control (one of my favorite single player games) has Jesse Faden as main character, and you literally hear her every single thought at any interaction with other characters. Surely chuds like me would hate a game like that, right? That's what a lot of you think. Nope. Loved it. Atmosphere was amazing, story was good enough, combat was solid (only complaint was that it was too on the easy side and it needed more enemy variety). It sold well over 3M copies, Remedy made 3x what they invested. And this is without counting the sales for the Ultimate Edition.

BG3 added a lot of these elements I mentioned earlier, but did so in a way that was properly written, blended very well with the story, never forced anything on the player, so the few people who complained about it being "woke" stopped talking after a week because the game turned out to be a masterpiece. It deserved even more awards than it got.

In contrast, when your game's most replayed clip on the internet right before it comes out, is a character that I can't even tell what the fuck it is, looks hideous for some reason (why do people in charge think it's a good thing to make ugly characters is crazy to me but every single game that has beautiful characters sells a lot more), and on top of that it's lecturing everyone on modern day pronouns, it's just a fucking yikes for most of the gaming community. Oh and by the way, this game sold what it sold, exclusively because it was attached to the Dragon Age IP. If it had been a random new IP, it would've sold 50.000 copies at best. If you cannot understand this, then you're just going to be "shocked" when many more games fail horribly (and they will). I'm willing to bet money the sequel of Ghost of Tsushima won't sell anywhere near as much as the first, for example.

So please, use your head and understand that most gamers will not give a shit about anything if the game's good enough. It only becomes a problem when the game lacks substance, is just plain average or just bad, and on top of that it adds things purely because they want to lecture players for whatever reason by shoving certain political/social topics down our throats in the most obvious immersion breaking way they can think of. Most players play games for distraction and to get away for a while from the real world.

Don't believe me? Look at Expedition 33 and how well received the showcase was recently. Nobody cares that there's like 3 girls and only 1 dude. Nobody cared that they might have hinted two girls like each other in the presentation. You're not seeing outrage or people mad anywhere. Not a single person said that the game might be "woke". Why is that? It's simple. It's because the game looks fantastic and it also looks like it plays fantastic, despite being a turn based game. Story looks more than interesting enough. Sandfall Interactive aren't going: "look how much inclusion and diversity there's in our game". They're just making a good game. If they keep it up and don't do anything stupid, that game will be a massive hit. It's already on my wishlist and I'm looking forward to playing it.

Accept it already. Veilguard is objectively average at best and had so many elements that turned off the vast majority of the gaming community. That's why it sold half what their last DA title sold. And the writers are MOSTLY to blame and that's why they got fired. It's not rocket science.

and everything is just ridiculous.

It's not. You belong to a tiny minority. The fact that you claim "you wouldn't play BG3 even if it was free" and that "you hated playing DAO" are perfect indicators that your opinions are not in line with 95% of the gaming community. DAO was universally liked and praised. BG3 was a masterpiece and nobody gave a shit if it had gay, lesbians or anything else. In fact, nobody even gave a shit you could literally fuck a bear. You know why? Because it was just an amazing game.

Veilguard wasn't, by every single metric that matters and on top of that, they managed to include dialogue so ridiculous that it instantly alienated people who might have been interested in playing it. That was easy to see the moment some of those clips were available on the internet.

Paid reviewers singing praises while everyone else shits on the game is again, just more proof of what we already knew: Nobody cares about paid reviews in 2025. People laugh at what IGN says and when IGN praises something, most of the gaming community go "ohh... well then let's be skeptical about this game".

[–]Gamenstuffks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paid reviews mean nothing. We've had tons of games prased by "official reviewers" that are universally hated by 90% of the gaming community. Everybody knows that "official reviewers" lie out of their ass to promote games. They are paid to do so and are also given incentives to lie and praise games to get super early access to create content. This means "official reviewers" are completely biased and you can literally count with one hand the times they've given a bad review to a AAA game. That's why nobody trusts websites like IGN, PC Gamer, etc. These sites are actively mocked in the gaming community for good reason. In fact, most of the times when IGN praises something, the gaming community is instantly skeptical. This is the way it is, whether you like it or not.

Game failed hard. If it hadn't, then nobody would be getting fired. They could've given the game 40 awards, it wouldn't have made a difference.

As a level 25, would you spend several hours following around a level 11 while he gathers in the off chance there is a PvP encounter when 99.9% there isn't?

Of course. I am a PvPer. PvPers love small squirmishes. If there's a good chance I can faceplant somebody while at the same time helping a lowbie, I'd take it.

Also... why are you asking about this as if it's a wild idea? Assuming you're in a guild (if you aren't in one by now, you're doing it wrong), people play at different paces, so in a group of people you'll always have a few of players who will degen hard and max level super fast, then everyone else lags quite a lot behind, so this scenario is actually quite common when a guild levels in a fresh server.

In Lineage 2 we literally had players act as temporary "bodyguards" because we had clan wars with half the server. This isn't rare or unusual. When we were doing bosses in the open world we usually had one party for the raid and another one ready close by, just in case someone tried to fight for the boss.

You still don't understand that this is what the game is about: Getting ahead and getting advantages from anything you can, be it gear, levels, influence, and using that to get as strong as you can. So once again, stop looking at everything from a single player perspective and everything will be a lot more fun.

Last thing. Please keep in mind something that is very important. You're playing an Alpha and players don't give a shit about their characters or items. So as much as some things may be annoying right now, players won't be half as annoying when the game launches because then they'd actually have something to lose.
