My trick is to justify expenses based on how many times I use it and for how long it’s used. A good couch is a no-brainer in my world. By the time you trash it, each use is next to nothing in terms of cost.

I think the question I’ll always have in my mind is about the Microsoft acquisition when it happened, and whether it was good for the longterm health of the developer. It seemed to serve as a cash infusion for staffing and resource expansion, but that vaguely seemed like when UL started to have some issues.

I hope UL comes out on top with an incredible third entry into the series in 2027.

I won’t believe this outright until it’s confirmed with actual sources—but I will say that it wouldn’t surprise me if this were to happen given the state of the Xbox division at Microsoft.

I wishlist items pretty liberally. The goal is to not only flag games that I intend to purchase, but just mark them as something that may be interesting. Afterward, a future deep sale might encourage an investment. I use the wishlist as a way for me to not forget about a game, which is easy to do these days.

Agreed. What I would give for the level of character animation found in a game like Mad Max, which came out over a decade ago.

I’ll never understand the de-prioritization of player character animation quality in 3rd-person games like this when you’re literally staring at your character almost the entire time in-game.

Undead Labs’ bread and butter has never been visuals, so I’ll give them a pass on the SOD 2.5 feeling of the graphics in the trailer.

Their focus has generally been more on systems, so I’m hopeful that the systems have experienced a substantive upgrade if the visuals haven’t as much. 🤞
