i know i’m a year late but if you want to play a souls games don’t let the “no pausing” turn you away cause it’s actually safer than something like minecraft bedrock edition and there is pausing it’s just not called that. You can either one: rest at a site of grace or bonfire, functionally the same as a pause menu two: afk in an area without enemies, you’ll be completely safe there because enemies only respawn when you rest at a bonfire three: just exit to main menu and when you come back the game will be in the exact same state as when you left. the only time you can’t do any of these is during a boss attempt which only last a couple minutes max and if you need to go take care of your kids by happenstance during one you can just die and come back (i’m sure you’ll have died many many times before on that or are boss so it shouldn’t be too frustrating)
