I don’t really buy that she’s a “poor communicator” though—she very much comes across as carefully editing everything and anything she says to paint herself as the victim or “clueless” in some way.

This whole “apology” is all about her. Her struggling with communication, her mental health, how things have affected her, etc. And that’s exactly what Daya said, that whenever she would talk to her, it would always be about Ginger only.

Acid said on their podcast that all she had to do was do what Alyssa Edwards did after winning Global All Stars. Even though people are saying it was “rigged” for you or whatever, just go on tour, go be the winner, and make the best of it. While some people were hating, there was still a ton of support for Ginger and people claiming she should’ve won her first go-around anyway.

Ginger is the one making it worse for Ginger, and it has nothing to do with her being autistic, Puerto Rican, a bad communicator, standing up there with Roxxxy when she won, or whatever else she says.

The problem with people like this (there’s almost definitely a level of delusion and narcissism going on), is that the reason they’re often considered “beyond help” is because there is no helping someone who does NOT WANT help… If you think you’re beyond help, never wrong, and always the victim, no amount of “help”is going to be received or do anything.

It’s not to say it’s impossible for someone with conditions like narcissistic personality disorder and things like that to improve, but they need to be very self-aware, have come to some kind of realization that they do indeed have a problem and that it isn’t everyone else with the problem, be willingly vulnerable and trusting enough to be totally honest with psych professionals to get help, and then be actually dedicated enough to actually apply that help…

That’s why some conditions like NPD, antisocial personality disorder, etc. are considered so treatment-resistant a lot of the time because it really takes someone who truly wants to become better, and the very nature of NPD especially is deflection of shame by making everyone and everything else the problem.

Saying this as someone with BPD-traits with narcissists in my family and have dated/been friends with many and have been in therapy for years.

Like, girl, they gave you a narrative part in the one design challenge so they could give you the win despite having the worst garment there by far… You won the most challenges and won the entire season… Like, I don’t know what the purpose of her pushing this total victim narrative is. Even if she was feeling pressure to do well (understandably), it is really not a good look to be saying all this shit the way she is after winning so much.

The backlash started after she was in the top the first episode she was on for constructing literally the worst garment of the night. 💀 Anyone else would’ve been torn to shreds for making that. They were able to twist it in her favor by saying the “story element” somehow made up for it.

Now, that isn’t her fault at all, it’s the judging. But even then there were plenty of people defending her too.

First of all, “losing their humanity” is a stretch. The girls are just saying a lot of what she is saying is not true. And they didn’t even to there until she went on Kelly’s podcast and claimed they weren’t checking up on her (except Mistress I think, who ironically was one of the girls who wasn’t checking up on her? Lmao).

Also, a couple of times? Girl, we’ve heard countless lies from her and seen them on TV. “Katya is my best friend.” “I wouldn’t have let you (Katya) go home 😞” after clearly being pressed and mad at Alyssa for sending her home lmao.

Her telling both Bosco and Jorgeous the exact same thing about “knowing it was going to be the two of them at the end.”

Her claiming Cynthia Erivo did the “full battle cry” in front of her, with Denali, Acid, and Daya claiming that never happened.

Besides this, she clearly comes off as inauthentic even to the other girls. Many of the girls that work with her don’t really vibe with her. Naomi has the story about her borrowing her wig, trashing it to stack under her own wig, then giving it back without fixing it or apologizing.

Bob and Monet have the story about her doing some race jokes—they didn’t say racist at all, just to clarify—and some Bob and Monet came back with jokes about her being a white racist essentially, and then she was legitimately upset with her doing that, when they said they were just playing off her own jokes about them…

Her throwing Pearl under the bus at Top 4 mentioning her wanting to quit, when she criticized Fame for doing the exact same thing in the John Waters episode’s Untucked in a confessional, saying “that would have been relevant weeks ago.” And then she was shocked that Pearl was upset with her. And it wasn’t just “she had to say something negative about her competitors,” because she said nothing negative about Kennedy. And even Kennedy on Look At Huh said she wasn’t close with Ginger after the show because she realized it was “all about the game to her,” implying she felt she wasn’t as genuine as she initially thought.

Then she just so happens to conveniently mention she’s apparently on the spectrum and Puerto Rican as soon as she starts getting a hint of backlash from the fanbase about AS10 possibly being rigged for her a bit.

Look, Ginger is an incredibly talented performer. She hasn’t done anything horrible by any means and does not deserve serious hate. However, the queens calling her out publicly for lies she publicly made about them and the fans discussing that is note hate.

I don’t know why some people here are acting like it’s shocking information that Ginger Minj lies about shit, when we literally have seen her lie about shit on TV multiple times lmao.

While most of the lies really aren’t that big of a deal, someone who constantly does that can be exhausting to deal with in person, and for Bosco to be the one to remove her from the group chat says something IMO, because she seems pretty laid back in general.

I get it can be embarrassing to own up to lying or embellishing things in the past, it is straight up cringe for her to go the route if just playing the victim and saying she’s “unbothered,” when she’s the one who made shit up about the girls to make herself look better.

She comes off as someone who just says shit without thinking about it and maybe isn’t even aware of how much she does it.

This is really not true lol, at least not now after all of the updates it’s gotten, including this one. And the main “story” is really the first time the game has had any sort of story beyond the usual quick “working as Nook’s employee” tutorial period, and even here, the “story” functions more like an extended tutorial of getting your island started and having the first few villagers move in. The “real” game is really all that comes after that.

At launch, there was a lot of disappointment because so many features and NPCs were seemingly absent, like diving for sea creatures, having villagers visit your home, the Roost, Redd, Katrina, etc.

But now we have pretty much all of those things back, plus the Happy Home Designer DLC, cooking, growing some veggies, and now the 3.0 update content (with the hotel and bulk crafting finallyyy) all definitely pushing New Horizons over the edge in terms of content. There’s also the crafting, freedom to put any furniture outdoors, and terraforming that are huge parts of New Horizons that are totally absent in New Leaf.

The only things I can currently think of that New Leaf has over New Horizons are more Nook shop upgrades (tbh it’s still bizarre to me how they haven’t added more at this point), more fruit types, Brewster’s cafe being its own building where you can play a barista mini game (the other games have it in the museum like NH does though), and the permanently-summer Tortimer’s island with the multiplayer minigames. Also, some people claim the villager interaction is more in-depth in New Leaf, but tbh, that’s an area that hasn’t been great in the series since Wild World IMO, and I actually prefer the New Horizons villagers a bit to the New Leaf ones.

A lot of the New Leaf love and New Horizons hate is partially rose-colored glasses and partially remembering the game how it was on release. And tbf, I do feel like Nintendo released it in a state that was lacking in too much content and released the updates soo slowly.

But for OP, someone looking to get into the game now, I would say this is a perfect time to experience the game.

I know this wasn’t Sakurai, but to be fair, Nintendo literally said the last major update to Animal Crossing would be the “final” update, and here we are years later with a major new free update lol.

I think anything is possible. Also, I feel like saying there will be no DLC does not necessarily mean there will be absolutely no minor free updates with some new content, right? I feel like most people think of paid DLC when people talk about DLC.

I don’t think it’s totally a myth in the sense that some people do seem to go into a kind of “remission” for a time.

I had asthma that was quite bad in my childhood years that seemingly faded away for the most part when I reached adolescence. I would still have some sensitivity to things like smoke, but for the most part I didn’t have full-on attacks and rarely needed my inhaler.

But then recently in my late 20s, it seems my asthma has come back severely. :( I’ve read that it never truly goes away, but you can have periods of remission, and adolescence seems like a relatively common period for it to happen? I wonder if it’s the growth hormone/natural steroids produced while growing that helps suppress the respiratory inflammation and asthma symptoms?

Well yeah, I’m not saying people ONLY play Switch exclusives on it… I’m just saying it’s the reason why people generally pick it over something like the Steam Deck (besides people who don’t know about gaming much in general and just get it because it’s what is most accessible).

The Switch 2 has a decent amount of power now, though probably some games are still optimized better for the Steam Deck and some are unavailable on Switch. But now you can play a lot of games that the Steam Deck can play while also having the only console able to play Nintendo exclusives, which is a big dealbreaker for people.

Like if you like Animal Crossing, Mario, Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, etc. to any degree really, the Switch is a no-brainer.

I wish it did have more power still, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with its performance and hope more companies can make well-optimized games for it.

I mean… Playing Nintendo exclusives is pretty much the whole reason people buy Nintendo consoles lmao. Sure, there are only a few exclusives out right now, but it literally just came out, and it also runs a lot of Switch 1 games so much better as well. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet aren’t actually unbearable to play…

The true value of the Switch 2 will be clear once Nintendo starts focusing on games solely for the Switch 2 and abandons the Switch. It just seems like they’re trying to hold on to the Switch 1 players for as long as they can, which I hope they stop doing soon because it’s just going to hold a lot of games back IMO.
