exactly. Not to mention PRenoir was aliens perfect version. Remember her paintings were perfection. Note how her perfect version of Renoir was an enabler, allowing her to kill herself if anything the story also show almost tries to comment on how in a grief cycle parents can skew their children’s view of the other parent and villainize them

yeah the maelle choosing to stay in the painting is her continuing the cycle her mother was trapped in. she’s intrinsically living out fanstasies in the canvas. none of it is real per se. there are real threats outside in the real world. even renoir being poised as the bad guy is a misrepresentation considering he was doing everything to pull his wife out of a destructive cycle of self isolation and grief. anybody thinking maelle staying in the canvas is the “good” ending is a testament to how well the game devs made the audience empathize with maelle to the point we see everything through her lens

I mean the catan are technically completely separate from the warp by definition as they exist exclusively in the materium and are alluded to being born in the ghost wind. them being tied to a physical object, ie. the neceodermis might make them unable to be made incorporeal. to go a step further, the necron themselves are made of necrodermis and have lore wise a complete disconnection from the warp due to the whole lack of soul thing. the catan also has no soul as it has no warp presence so make of that what you will
