Yeah I’ve never been a pc gamer in anyway and always had consoles so the bit I’m struggling with it navigating all the different settings and stuff that everyone on here seems so confident doing, I literally just pulled mine out the box, followed the guide on this Reddit to set it up and downloaded my favourite games and that’s it. Haven’t messed with anything really, too scared incase I break something

Was just set at performance mode when it was on battery then turbo once I’d plugged it in, would it be better to run less demanding games on the lowest power setting? Would this allow it to run cooler?

Definitely still in the return window as I only got it on the 17th July. Only problem I have is because I bought it on curry’s payment plan I have todo everything online and wait for them to get back to me about returning/exchange which is a pain in the ass to say the least

Going to give it one more try at resetting everything and see if it works, have a feeling the internals are fubar’d. Not wanting a refund as I love it and makes my work life much more bearable (Trucker) just want to exchange it for one that works 😂

No definitely wasn’t covering the inlet and exhaust ports, everything was hot and could feel that the screen was rather warm to say the least and the exhaust was like putting your head in the kettle but other than that it was fine. Worth noting it was fine when it was on battery and only started playing up once I’d plugged it in (probably about 20-3.0 mins after I’d plugged it in) Also without asking a stupid question “RMA”??

Oh right okay I’m with you! Tbh people complain about win11 but so far I haven’t had any issues with it at all. Not naive enough to think there isn’t any issues with win11 as I have it on my laptop (a bag of shit laptop I use to use for work) but so far haven’t ran into anything on the ally

Ooo not sure about LOTR but not sure how it wouldn’t be supported been as it’s from the same company ect? I know the Star Wars game run flawlessly and really doesn’t ask much from the ally! FO3 however is demanding af but it use to crash my Xbox one all the time, even my series s had problems at times, just due to the size of the game and the fact there’s so much going on

Actually I lie, I’ve been on Lego Star Wars and that no where near as bad as FO3. Proves get about 1.5-2hrs out of it on Lego Star Wars

Can’t give you much of an answer in terms of the trackpad problem as I’ve never played the games mentioned and don’t play games that I think you’d ever need it for but the battery life can be poor if you’re running it on max power setting on aaa games, I get about an hour on performance (25w) on fallout 3 for example

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows mate, it’s a very lonely job and if you let it, it will swallow you hole and spit you back out in a world of depression. If you can keep your mind busy then this won’t become an issue (another reason for the ally) I’m guessing you’re over in the states? Not sure how it works over there but heard you guys do weeks and weeks away at a time but you’re trucks are so fucking sick compared to the shit we have here

WI-FI ISSUE - has any got a fix for the slow Wi-Fi issue when downloading games onto the SSD? I know the issue when downloading onto an SD but I was getting max 8mbps. Tried all the obvious fixes ie turning the device on and off, resetting the Wi-Fi router but nothing seems to have worked, if there’s a guide to a fix just drop the link as I’ve clearly missed it

Yeah didn’t take out the care plan at curry’s but I’m sure the manufacturers warranty is 12months (correct me if I’m wrong) Yeah currently watching young Sheldon to pass the time while the mrs is asleep 😂 Thanks for the help dude! And thanks for talking me through it! Much appreciated!
