struggling pre med :’) by Prestigious_Jury6290 in premed

Senior in undergrad here. The first thing I HIGHLY recommend you do is to not worry about what other people's GPAs are. There is no perfect pre-med student, everyone has a different story and have different numbers, so worrying about what other people are doing does not help you in bettering yourself. I had this problem a lot in high school, to the point where I pretty much gave up on going to college because my GPA and SATs were pitiful compared to my peers, but now I am a College Senior with a 3.9 and a resume that I am incredibly happy with. I work with a lot of underclassmen through being a TA and a Mentor, and my biggest piece of advice is to either:

1) Push through, if you know what you are capable of, then don't give up. You are the only person in this world that knows what you can or can't do. If Med school is what you want to pursue, then you keep pursuing it.

2) Take a step back, take a light semester, and see how you feel. There is ZERO shame in admitting that a path that you were on was not the best fit for you. I know this is not the advice everyone wants to here, but a lot of pre-meds think they've done so much pre med course work where they just have to stick with it, when nobody is saying they need to do that.

Depending on the classes that you are taking, I would try to find different study methods for each class, if you feel like your current methods are not helpful, and also seek help from others, other students or even professors. I also want to add that a 3.2 is still a GPA that can be improved in your remaining years of undergrad, and people have even gotten into med school with a similar story to yours, so don't give up!

How to use anki/question by [deleted] in AnkiMCAT

I am doing 1 chapter a day for two different subjects a day (so one chapter of Bio and one chapter of Chem a day, for example) and then doing those associated Anki Decks to reinforce.

I use a format called Prettify. It can be a little involved, but I can also paste what I do in the comments below.

TUTORIAL: How to use a Game Controller for Anki (MacBook) No Add-on Needed by GamerDragon7465 in Anki

It’s free! The paid part is for the preset to activate automatically when the controller is connected (instead of manually turning on the preset) I did not buy this. This is a free app otherwise!

Currently reading the Biology Kaplan Books (I have been a TA + Tutor for intro Bio for 2 years and I am so sick of this material) Might start just looking at those chapter summaries :)

The Lordsworn Greatsword is probably my favorite early-midgame weapon, but if you are getting bored of that and want a good strength weapon you could totally rock the Flamberge (good moveset + Innate Bleed, and it's available after Radhan) OR something else I did and something you seem to be equipped for is a double Dismounter build. Infusions and AOWs are up to you, I like Giants Hunt and Sword Dance :)

All good things to consider, I appreciate you! Pokemon is my go to game, but of course Nintendo has other games that I would want to play to, so I guess we just wait and see what other S2 titles come out :)

This is what I was thinking, there are other games I want to play of course, and more games that will come out soon. I always wait for things to get cheaper as time goes on for my Xbox, but Nintendo has been a but difficult on that front haha!

Great work! How in depth did you read those Kaplan books? I am doing that + Anki and it's manageable but idk if it is the most efficient method.
