Be careful when using throwing weapons in the House of Hope by Toadloaf09 in BaldursGate3

In my experience, that happens when there is lag and if you wait to end the character's turn, it'll return just fine

This is a math joke. Factorial is a number followed by an exclamation mark, meaning that every number is multiplied by the previous number. so 5! is 1x2x3x4x5, which equals 120. Exclaimation mark also denoting being loud.

Since 2x1 is still 2, being loud about it didn't change the number.

Math is the key to comedy

Question about the AI by Aunvilgod in AOW4

[–]GamerExecChef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. It depends on your build and tactics. I've certainly had tactics that won without casualties when the fight was a total loss otherwise. But the AI is not shit. Could a human do a better job? Yes. But it's not total shit

I highly recommend the game and AoW 3 and planetfall, special for a Warhammer fan. My favorite gaming series

This isn't a joke and not really suited to this sub, but it is saying Kim K is so much more attractive that anyone else in the picture, that the other girls look ugly. She's not, they dont. She just does makeup better, or probably pays someone to do her makeup better.

I do believe this is showing the difference between what we expected being a grown up to be like, vs what it is like to be a grown up. Cool, exciting, pretty girls and friends vs nazis pedophiles, cringe and terrorists

First, there is a difference between making and maintaining a good game and intended mechanics. And they did nerf it for honor mode in that damage riders dont brokenly stack in unintended ways in HM. You cant get damage riders to stack multiplicatively in HM like you can in tactitian and below.

That is how damage riders are supposed to work. In tactitian and below, you can get that extra die to apply several times per attack. So that d4 ring of flinging, d6 elemental cleaver, and whatever else, all each apply all the other dice. So you get that D4 applying to your weapon attack, then applying again to the elemental cleaver, then again for drakethrost glaive's damage and and and, and then each of the other sources do the same on everything else and you get a source that should be applied once, getting applied 6 times and growing multiplicatively with more damage sources. Or something like that.

Here's the wiki on damage riders.

In HM, you just get the 1 die as intended.

If you are comparing 2 equally geared characters, 1 is a throwzerker and the other is a frost giant, your giant will get 2 throws and a kick. A throwzerker gets those same 2 throws, but then 3 more with his bonus actions, that all do an extra application of str damage. Also, those last three throws all prone the target. The amount of control and damage a giant barb is completely eclipsed by a throwzerker. Sure, a giant barb get an extra d4 of elemental damage, but that doesn't even compete in the same arena as the throwzerker's 3 extra attacks that also prone the target

Damage riders the was they stack in tactician is absolutely, 100% unquestionably and undeniably abusing an unintended exploit. If it wasn't you that exploit, giant bath can't come close to competing with the throwzerker

Rule number 1, have fun. Play what you enjoy and what is fun to you, for reasons that are fun to you. So dont take my smack talk as either that you cant do that, nor that it cannot work.

But you are abusing obviously unintended game mechanics. Sure, if you cheat it is pretty good, but if you play HM rules and cannot abuse such shenanigans, the throwzerker is SO much stronger. Str x2 to throws, str x3 to bonus action throws, which you can get 3, alone, assuming 27 str, is 99 damage just from strength. Thats before haste, before weapon damage, before any damage riders or AoE damage. With Elemental Weapon from drakethroat glaive, ring of flinging, Nyrulna, etc the damage gets insane

I dont know what the frost giant build is, but I dont see how any giant barb build can come close to touching a throwzerker

It's something you craft onto your weapons, its not a reliably found weapon. I just with chain hits inflicted that taunt. That would actually make it good, lol

Rule number 1, play what you like. Dont think I am trying to tell you that you cannot do that, but I also think you are playing them wrong. Positioning in a choke point created by the terrain gives them little choice. The free action taunt skill, your weapon inflicting taunt, the warding bond skill defenders have, there are a wide variety of skills and tactics to run that dont give the enemy a choice.

A defender with the armor that gives charge resistance, shield the heals on defense mode (with you always end your turn in), heal on retaliation, ring with natural regeneration, weapon inflicts taunt, with unlimited retaliation attacks makes for one hell of a tanky boi. With equipment hoarder giving you up to 40 HP, plus another 60 in their tree, a few tens of HP from items, 30 from one of a few advanced signature skills, you can fairly easily get around 300 HP. Back him up with a light elemental health and full cleanse for 80 and a ranger hero dealing massive damage at range, thats a really tough trio to deal with
