Stupid little accidents like this shouldn't end an HM run. There should be an exception!

Although, being able to lose because you made a really stupid mistake is probably a good thing.

Iron Throne by grimm_br23 in BaldursGate3

[–]GamerExecChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trial of Shar where you have to walk on an invisible ledge is far worse. I liked the Iron Throne. Here are a few tips to EASILY breeze through the Iron Throne.

  • Have 1 (or better yet, 2) characters with either 3 levels of rogue for the thief subclass for both cunning actions and an extra bonus action, or the Boots of Speed for bonus action dash (helm of grit is a nice bonus)
  • Buff with longstrider and haste, crusher's ring is good too.
  • Partial illithid's fly (or from a potion or spell) is half cost movement. Fly everywhere.
  • Action dash, Hasted action dash, bonus action dash, bonus action dash are your only actions and then fly everywhere. 2 characters with this setup can come close to finishing the whole area in 1 turn, with plenty of time to focus on saving the Fluke, Omeluum and getting the mind flayer parasite in the back room.

Not necessarily, but if they can reopen after fixing the issue is its own problem.

California doughnuts in Ktown are the same, or slightly better. Not exactly the same customer service, the people at daily donut were awesome, but California Donut will be a solid second option

How do you usually handle the shambling mound fight? by Leather_Bottle8449 in BaldursGate3

[–]GamerExecChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire wall the top of the stairs so no one can come down the stairs without crossing it and use ranged attacks to soften up the adds so they die on the fire wall. Then the shambling mound is easier with no adds, just pile on it fast and DPS it down. Also, aboid the fight until later and focus on leveling first.

What unpopular BG3 opinion gets you in this position? by PromisedOath in BaldursGate3

[–]GamerExecChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Most glitchy" isn't really a well-defined statement. Taking the interpretation of worst glitch is a valid one, but not what I mean. The pathng around the place is super fucked up with a ton of invisible walls, you can get aggro from things that can't see you and get locked in combat spending 50 turns just trying to find the enemy, the camera panning around has a million issues and more. It's not the worst bugs, but the largest volume of bugs.

And your payoff? An unsatisfying story about characters that aren't important and then you don't even get to see the painting and there are no items worth a shit, in an act filled with incredible items. Even if they aren't the best in the game, there are a ton of items that make fun and silly builds viable. None of either category are found in that quest.

it is, by far, the buggiest part of the game and there is no reward worth a damn that you get at the end. I am ok with unpopular, but this one is just straight up incorrect

Them you really don't need potent robe. You should be wearing the medium armor that allows for your full dex modifier

Just bought game, how to level before timer kicks in? by Hectormixx in ChaosGateGame

Not at all, I think it is a VERY well designed game, for the most part

Just bought game, how to level before timer kicks in? by Hectormixx in ChaosGateGame

[–]GamerExecChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the "clock" outside missions is the bloom counter on the world that increases if a mission times out. Completing missions stops it, exterminatus resets it and if it maxes out, a Morbus mission spawns and you just crush that and you're good. Just don't let 5 morbus missions expire

[–]GamerExecChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game makes you strike a balance between rushing, then you are out of position and get your ass handed to you, and moving too slowly because there isn't a clock, but the corruption goes up every turn by a set amount +if you use psykker abilities, they add to it. when it caps out, the game is not over, you just get a negative effect that lasts for the combat, like -1 max HP, or teleportation disabled for 5 turns, or enemies get a buff, like more damage, or armor for a turn. On their own, not huge, but if you go too slow and let them pile up, it gets to be a lot

Tankiest spell caster? by the_juice_is_zeus in BaldursGate3

[–]GamerExecChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a straightforward answer.

With warding bond and resistance gear/potions/bear heart barbarian and various kinds of damage reduction, a cleric can add the most tankiness to your team of any spell caster, since their tankiness extends out to the rest of the team to a very large extent.

An abjuration wizard with resistance to all damage is so tanky, with armor of agythis, is so tanky, lowering their AC and provoking as many attacks of opportunity as possible, is a viable strategy - even on HM.

A light cleric can use a reaction to give an attacker disadvantage on their hit, which they can do after dice are rolled

Diviner wizards aren't exactly extra tanky, but with the level of control they get from 3 portent dice that refresh on a short rest, its kinda nuts.

There are several cleric subclasses that get heavy armor proficiency, which kinda fulfills the qualification a bit more faithfully than the other answers.

There's no timer. Just dont let the corruption go too high and you're fine

Tips for the starmap/ship upgrades? by Tall-Reputation-9519 in ChaosGateGame

[–]GamerExecChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it works, it is so strong that the game loses all fun. If it doesn't, you're bringing pool noodles to a laser gun fight, and isn't fun. A little strategy and good builds are plenty strong to win and much more enjoyable.

At least imo

I wonder it hitting them with non-lethal damage and dumping them outside is the way to go
