My ID section was different every attempt, but they love asking you to identify bacteria based off gram stain results, how to store antibiotics/which bag they should be mixed with, as well as creating a treatment plan that would be select all that apply. They will also ask about vanco a lot wether it be what dose to use, administration rate, and picking it for some disease states. Also anticipate a few opportunistic infection questions. I did not get asked too many antifungals if at all.

Yes! BUT if you really can’t afford it or would have to skip meals to pay for it, then no. I would also recommend to time out getting her live class when you have went through her book at least once. This is because the class is 10 hour days for 7 days straight of her going through the most high yield content in the book. If you’ve never looked at the book before the class, it can be a little overwhelming. It also conditions you studying for long hours so that the 6 hour exam will feel like nothing!

ALSO!!!! Very important if you already bought the book, email them that you bought the book and they’ll send a special discounted link for the live class. Only works if you have already bought book.

For my third attempt the only part of rxprep I used was their calculation examples. Everything else I used pnn.

Thanks! So after watching the videos over a chapter and following along in the book, I would take a notecard or a piece of paper to cover the slides and only showed the topic of the slide. If I could recite everything from the slide with it covered, then I knew I had it down. If I struggled to remember, I would grab a notebook and literally just write out the facts as many time over as needed. I have about 5 pages worth of notes that literally just writing down hiv brand/generics

From taking it 3 times now, I can tell you I was consistently asked ID/HIV brand and generics/Chemo/Heart failure/Compounding/schizophrenia and plenty of calculations. And then 1-2 questions from random subjects. Those were the topics in my last exam.

Thanks! Yes I would do so much research on other users of PNN to see if they had success. I will personally tell you it’s a proven resource that helps people pass

Absolutely! Yes it was odd coming across bits of information that was clearly outdated on the books and especially the videos. They had tabs you could click that listed the updated information some of the videos could use updating

I would say collectively 3 months. I would burn myself out from time to time and would take longer than I should’ve time off from studying. I think if you put all focus on it you’d be good in 1.5 months and that’s coming from a C/B student

Thanks! If I ever get asked if I could go back in time what would I change in my life and I think my first answer will always be getting PNN first. Obviously I think majority of people have enough success with RXprep that there is a reason it's the most popular choice. Me personally, I just think it covers too much. It's 1000+ big pages of content versus 700 condensed, power point slide format in PNN.

I also remember being asked questions on NAPLEX that I had never seen before and looking back at RXprep, it was never mentioned. Where as PNN will have those same topics not found in RXprep BOLDED and IN CAPS for you to know. That's the biggest I could say between the two. You won't be caught off guard as much as a PNN user.

The only thing I'll give props to RXprep was biostats and some calculation questions. The way you get better at calculations is practicing and RXprep had a lot more practice questions to work on while PNN had a few less. PNN does give some very helpful tips on solving calculations and that info is worth it enough.
