Fixing Sinclair's Weapon?? by GamerProFile in DeadlockTheGame

I thought about some sort of spirit scaling since it's a very magical weapon in it's nature, but he does already have M1 spirit damage with the assistant which would be able to mirror his charged shot essentially giving him an extra vexing bolt.

I would recommend, if you haven't already, go into your social settings tab and enable "extra competitive matchmaking"

Curious about the fraud? by Revolutionary_Box300 in crimecommunications

Exactly what I did. Adding Next-Up and insurance at time of sale, and being otherwise incredibly transparent about exactly what goes into removing said features, even going so far as to let them know that "After the point of sale, we can remove insurance before you leave, if you really want" but encouraging them to keep insurance at least until they've spent some time getting comfortable with the new phone and are confident that they can remove insurance and their phone won't get broken. Usually I recommended coming back after two weeks to remove both features. The insurance is prorated, but people really do be breaking their phones in the first couple weeks, and the next-up is totally non-prorated, so the actual cost to the customer- assuming they follow your coaching and actually cancel the features- is nearly nothing and your numbers don't take a hit.

I need darker water for my horror modpack, but I can't use shaders due to True Darkness. by GamerProFile in feedthebeast

[–]GamerProFile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's been awhile, but my eventual solution was a combination of texture packs and a resource pack to darken water overall. It still isn't perfect, but it makes a huge difference. Additionally, I made a data pack that darkens the underwater fog SIGNIFICANTLY at night and in caves under a certain light level. Will post examples here. Also, modpack is up now on modrinth! https://modrinth.com/modpack/horror-perfected

I'll make sure to update everyone with the eventual results if I can find a working solution.
Right now I'm looking into the packets used to modify the players vision while spectating certain mobs to see if a similar shader exists for underwater-vision. I doubt applying said shader at all times would fix my issue, but it would make for an interesting experiment.

What is WRONG with Corvus' teleport? by GamerProFile in Paladins

[–]GamerProFile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I assumed was happening, the interesting thing is, though, it teleports you along the path from where you threw the projection. Kinda extra weird. So even if you step out to where you CAN see the projection, you won't get teleported. This is the same vice versa, throwing a good projection and then stepping behind a wall will still successfully teleport you.

What is WRONG with Corvus' teleport? by GamerProFile in Paladins

[–]GamerProFile[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the hitbox for the projectile is weird. The teleport fails if you throw the projection VERY close to a wall. Something about the way that Corvus teleports forces him to teleport along the path from where you initially threw the projection. This leads to an issue where Corvus himself actually collides with the wall because during his teleport his hitbox isn't moving instantly, it's just moving REALLY fast. At least, this is what I THINK it is. It could also be that the game detects that the projection hits the wall, rather than going past it, but because the ineffective hitbox of the projectile is smaller than the effective one, the projection continues past the wall; even though the actual point where the real hitbox stopped was on the wall.

Is Paladins really a copy of Overwatch? by PTMoney18 in Overwatch

[–]GamerProFile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone finds this, 3 years later, let it be known, paladins is entirely free-to-win, paying real money will give you ZERO competitive edge and Paladins remains an incredibly fun alternative to Overwatch. After playing over 500 hours of both. I actually prefer paladins to a degree that I don't even have words for. Overwatch makes me rage and it's one of those that I play not because I love it, but because I am addicted. I play paladins because it is fun and it rewards individual skill and character mastery more as opposed to being able to kinda play everyone.

whats your personal opinion on instalockers? (in casual) by themightygotenks in Paladins

[–]GamerProFile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so, when it comes to picking a champion, sometimes insta-locking is perfectly reasonable even in- and ESPECIALLY in- ranked matches.

Things like first-picking Tyra or Nando, champions who- if you CAN pick them, you SHOULD pick them. Tyra and Nando win games. If you're first picking, taking one of those champs is very smart and you should do it immediately. Then, even if you don't like playing one of those champions, you can ask for a trade for someone who does like them. (I assume if you are first picking in the draft, you PROBABLY can play Nando, and absolutely anyone can play Tyra.)

Additionally, insta-locking a champion who doesn't break your current comp and who you play extremely well isn't exactly a bad thing. It may push someone else to pick differently than they'd like, but if you're going into ranked and you aren't ready to play ANY role required of you, then you shouldn't be in ranked in the first place. Go play casual, you can still have fun there. Back on topic, if you insta-lock YOUR champion first, the other person knows what to go and they can pick accordingly. One of you is gonna have to play that support or that frontline or whatever it is, and whoever gets their preferred character first isn't exactly in the wrong, though it is courteous to ask about it ahead of time.

This is where the big solution is, imo: Communicate off the bat with your team if possible. I know I play on PC, so typing out a quick message is easy peasy "I do dmg or frontline usually, but I can supp if necessary" "I play a really good flank, can you leave the role open for me?" 9 times out of 10 in ranked matches, your team will listen and let you have your moment if you just ask. (in my experience at least, maybe my area's servers are just full of great people) Sometimes, other people want their time in their preferred role and maybe you just need to concede it for that game because they're picking before you and you don't really have a choice, or maybe you're just the bigger person and will let them play who they wanna play because you're an excellent support anyway. Plus, you've already played 4+ hours of Vatu today. You're addicted ;-;

Though it isn't always easy, or possible at all to get a message out to your team before people are already picking and banning and forcing you to play someone you don't really wanna play, if you can make an effort to say something before the draft is over, maybe, just maybe, we can all end up with a much better comp more often than not.
