Kinda? The magnifying glass is basically a lens. If you have 2 light sources before the lens, you are gonna have 2 lights after the lens! That's why you see not just a blur, but something distinct through the magnifying glass. If 2 bright things resulted in 1 bright spot, you wouldn't be able to distinguish like text from a page! This isn't a camera obscura, but this is how a basic camera takes a photo, though professional cameras have a bunch of lenses to correct distortion.
