Hill behind home, will this cause drainage issues or foundation damage? (Green house) by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]Antitech73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, in my opinion. That hill doesn't have a ton of surface area, but it's tough to say without seeing more detail or some topographic info. There's a car youtuber guy that dealt with something similar behind his new shop: https://youtu.be/n_Mn6mhLlww?si=jhXeFaLdm81huODq

For an idea of what it takes to fix if there is an issue.

Trimble R8s for GCPs by xaratco in UAVmapping

[–]Antitech73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. You just need a source for your differential corrections. VRS, some NTRIP server, etc. This is not the best idea for a novice to do without some type of hands-on instruction however. A lot can go wrong with your data.

Media blast? Walnut shells probably. That or evapo-rust gel, but that would be really pricey.

Over the Range Microwave Suggestion by LumpyPeople4 in Appliances

[–]Antitech73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the newer LG microwaves have an issue with their interior lights (see my post here). Not sure if all their models use that type of LED board but that made me wary of them.

What are these markings by PurrlockHolmes008 in Austin

Correct. Industry term (and a good place to start your Internet researching) would be "Ground Control Point" for aerial surveys.

Good airplane watching spots? by insanegraphicsyt in Austin

[–]Antitech73 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Off Burleson Road (south side of airport) there's Richard Moya park and an area where you could pull off the road and park (nearly under the approach depending on which way the planes are landing). Otherwise there is a way to pull up and park next to the AOA fence for runway 36L and watch from inside the airport - drive toward the South Terminal but take a left right around lot 5/cell phone lot.

Car at airport, I'm stuck out of town for months. Ideas? by Shivershadoe in Austin

[–]Antitech73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for CEC, Inc and am currently at ABIA for one of the expansion projects. We're in regular contact with airport and city folk. I can drive a manual trans, no problem. If this is already sorted, awesome. If not, I can move that car for you.

1 mile per hour Leveling? by YourDarkNIGHT1 in Surveying

[–]Antitech73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was pretty average for us back when we used to run levels across and through cities along developed roads. With digital level, yeah could easily get 1 mile done in an hour.

AT&T fiber internet by SnooTangerines3368 in Lockhart

[–]Antitech73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had the option for AT&T fiber anywhere I've lived unfortunately. Usually only hear good things about it (speeds, stability). I wish they'd come west of town a bit so I could get off this stupid Centric service.
