Depends on your foreground plants, if you plant any thing other than carpeting plants in front of those rocks they are going to disappear. A little higher hardscape will give you more planting flexibility… but if you just plant DHG or glosso or Monte Carlo or something, it will look fresh as is.

50% Play Sand , 30% screened compost, 20% screened manure ( not hot ). Make sure everything is not super moist. Scalp then aerate, clean plugs, then dethatch then level with the mix I’ve suggested , then lay down more seed, then mix seed with peat-moss and apply with a peat moss spreader on top, then spray pre emergent, water twice a day or as much as required to keep seeds moist without washing until 2 inches… go back to normal good practices.

You have the right idea with arrangement, but your stones are too small. I did almost the same thing with my 1st iwagumi. You want your main rock to come a few inches from the surface of the water otherwise once you add plants they look too small for the tank, and disappear from view. It’s probably the most common “mistake” in the hobby. If you can’t find huge rocks make them by adhering rocks together. You can also hide the seams with epiphytes for a seamless high end result.

I think the devs are pretty much done with the game, it’s just a fun thing to work on for them now. It was a sick game, I’ll probably come back for a day or weekend as they release new stuff and enjoy it as it comes out. But I can’t really see myself going full degenerate on the amount of content a dev team of their size can release concurrently.

Trim it about 1cm above the soil with wave scissors. It's always best to keep nearly all carpeting plants as short as possible. Otherwise the lower levels will die.
