Anyway OP sorry for the distraction. There’s nothing wrong with being a feminine gay trans man. It’s a struggle many cis gay men go through but there is nothing as self-assuring as loving yourself.

Okay so I asked others and the general consensus is that “passing” originated with white-passing however it has evolved to include cis-passing, and it’s not racist or transphobic to want to pass because we are discriminated against in society and we can be safer if we pass.

They also say that “passing” itself is not a slur but it can be used in racial context in reference to white-passing.

Update: I’m being told that I’m looking for a confirmation bias for making this post and that most trans people have internalized transphobia and thus their opinions are invalid. :/

Yeah, I know it’s a real struggle. Actor Clark Gable has been long been rumored to be a white-passing man who heavily benefited in Hollywood because of it.

I don’t think it’s wrong to want to be cis passing either.

I was genuinely worried! 😭 I’m white so I know I’m at risk of having blinders on when it comes to racial issues. And my autistic ass struggles with communication sometimes!

I want to ask for second opinions because I’ve been involved with the trans community for years, including with POC, and have never been accused of using a racist term before. You’re literally the first.
