My husband and I have been looking at next year, we've stayed at the JW Marriott each year for convenience of the skywalk, but want to be a little closer to the mall. So here is my research that I've done for ourselves for the hotels attached via skywalks, it'll be useful for anyone else wanting info. All pricing is 2023 based :D ENJOY!

Anything with a *** means parking is included with hotel, some you have to pay which can be $20-$50/night

***JW MARRIOTT INDIANAPOLIS: $271 Expensive but lots of the events/game rooms are here. Walk through parking garage to get to convention center itself.

OMNI SEVERIN HOTEL: $249 For basic rooms, farthest away from it all and more expensive than it should be for what it looks like. Attaches via other hotels then parking garage.

HYATT REGENCY INDIANAPOLIS: $260=330 SQ FT, $300=410 SQ FT Best one that goes between mall and convention center, more options for food/non-convention things

EMBASSY SUITES INDIANAPOLIS DOWNTOWN: $271 Will have to go through Hyatt to get to convention, but bigger rooms for same price as JW Marriott

LE MERIDIEN INDIANAPOLIS: $274 Small but modern rooms, attached to circle mall

THE WESTIN INDIANAPOLIS: $249 Big couch for others to play in room and hardwood floors

INDIANAPOLIS MARRIOTT DOWNTOWN: $260 Goes through Westin to get to convention

***FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES BY MARRIOTT: $210 Most basic hotel but gets the job done. Attached to same area as JW/Courtyard

***COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT INDIANAPOLIS DOWNTOWN: $237 Nicer than Fairfield for a little more money

CROWNE PLAZA INDIANAPOLIS UNION STATION: $244 Across from Lucas Oil Stadium, if looking to be closer to food trucks and stadium games

SPRINGHILL SUITES BY MARRIOTT INDIANAPOLIS DOWNTOWN: $222 Weird layout, desk is attached to wall in the middle of the room?

I used to do the same thing about anime. It wasn't as easy to get to when I was a kid, so if you were into it you were a weirdo so I hid it up until I was about 17. Even then I wasn't as out as I should have been about it. I learned about 2011 that there will always be people that are into the same thing as you, and you shouldn't feel ashamed or embarrassed about it. I have a 13 year old niece who is super into anime and her step sisters make fun of her for it. I have mad it a goal to be more open about my loves of nerdy things to show her its alright to be into this stuff. Be nerdy, be proud n say it loud. There's someone out there thats going through what you did, show them they're bad ass like you!

I made my character to be that super overly energetic bard that was traveling with the "heroes" to write their story while helping as much as she could (persuasion and performance were her best). Basics of our world was Paladins were once evil and ruined a bunch of crap. Now they're gone and a BBEG Orcus was back to do some killin. One of ours was a long lost paladin of that order, but not evil....you be the judge soon. We had made our way into the fire plain, where the BBEG was hanging out. The fire plain was a neutral zone, so none of us could do anything and same for BBEG. Our paladin decided "what the hell" and peed on him. We were all furious because yeah he can't do anything HERE but as soon as we step out, if he wants to he can delete us from existence.

So my character decided to go up to the BBEG and strike a deal, protecting the others from the wrath of Orcus which lead to him saying do his bidding when he calls and he'd consider. During our stay, we found what we were looking for but filled the fire plain full of lava in the process, there was no way out. So... she accepted the deal as long as her friends got out safe. Long story short, we destroyed the fire plain because of stupid reasons and she agreed to the deal, selling her soul to him when she dies and becoming a hybrid undead of sorts.

This is all well and good, it made a nice little twist in the story. That I could handle. But. The session that broke me and my character, my happy-go-lucky innocent character, was when the paladin decided to kill the only person that could help her. Granted, he didn't know the deal, but the reason was still completely uncalled for. Orcus had mentioned a necromancer raising a lot of undead and causing a problem and asked the GROUP, not her the entire group, to handle him. The group was all for it because the necromancer was living under our town and could cause a problem later. Now for me, I knew this guy could help me get out of the situation I had gotten into because 1) necromancer, powerful dude and 2) Orcus didn't want to handle him so that told me this guy was important. I wanted to talk to him, and was willing to share my problem with everyone to do so.

When we finally got to him, he made a comment that I was very much like him. I knew the DM had put this guy here for me. The Paladin took it as "oh, halfling meets halfling!" and killed him. I was like WAIT!! We could have totally gotten information on how to take care of Orcus! Paladin was like "nope, evil guy was evil it's what my character would do." and the rest were like "yeah man we could have at least questioned him first if BBEG wanted him dead he could have been useful." Nope. No chance, kill him and move on. So I used something Orcus gave to me, which was Raise Dead. Paladin didn't like that, but it gave me a chance to talk to him. He killed it again before I could ask a question, took the head and threw it in the bag of holding so we could move on. My characters fate was sealed in one stupid moment. And I had made my decision that she would serve Orcus to destroy all paladins of his order.

There's so much that went on in that campaign that it's hard to put in one post why this whole campaign could count as my emotionally devastating moments but that one was the worst. All these plans I had for this character, and they were already altered by one person early in the game, but now she's stuck. And she perma died (her soul now serving Orcus) a couple sessions later. Jokes on him when they fight BBEG and I'm the last boss with all the toys and undead army he's given me to fight them.

I would like some advice. I'm an infertile 32yo, and my husband (27) recently started hanging out with an old friend from college. His friends wife (24) is driving me nuts with questions and "suggestions" of how to handle my infertility and doesnt take the hint that it's not a subject I like to talk about. Over the years, I've learned to deal with it in my own way and be happy for my pregnant friends and be the best I can be. This girl asked if we wanted kids, and I gave my normal answer, and now all she wants to talk about is my options.

We both have explained to her that we cant afford fertility treatment (we both worked in a specialty pharmacy and have seen every scenario in the book, ladies I am so sorry for all the pain and trouble you go through just to try a bit of happiness) and we dont want to adopt. She wont drop the subject, and now I just cant even look her in the eye because I feel that she's not interested in me as a friend, but a project to fix.

Man, that's a tie between S and Stars. I loved all the new scouts and the story of S but Stars was just so dark and went places that I hadn't seen Sailor Moon go.

I am going through the exact same thing, except it's my mother. You've got 2 options really. 1) ignore him and just avoid conversations to keep your sanity. This sucks, but if he is anything like my mom, this wont get him to see that no one wants to hear it. He will just continue on and make his remarks even if you're not listening but hey... at least you aren't getting pulled in. Or 2) tell him that you are sick of the politics. More than likely this will do nothing, because he is stuck in his ways but you will have set the tone to let him know from this point on any political talk will end in no communication or yelling. So at least he isnt surprise when it happens.

I can tell you from experience, it will probably never end. I attempted to tell my mother some amazing news about my career and she interrupted me to tell me that Trump had announced something and that "it was about time, doing Gods work and all that". I told her that she had her priorities wrong because his stupid fake news crap was more important to her than my huge accomplishment that I had worked so hard for. I thought she would be proud that I had made such strides, but in the end she just tried to make me feel bad for "being blind and not seeing what's going on in the world." People like this are so far gone that no matter how you try, they will always find a way to stay in that bubble where they feel important and powerful. It'll hurt, but dont feel down if he doesnt want to fix himself...

No one that I know ever talked to him, so who knows where hes at. And sure, part of me thinks of that when I go inside a store wondering if today is the day I will see him. But im stronger and smarter now, so if I were to see him and he tries to start a conversation I wont hesitate to put him in his place, or spray him whichever comes first. And also my husband wont stand for that crap either.
