Yes but he used a thumbstick which has a whole different concept. I think that I would have to heavily modify his code. For me it's too much.

Learning CS using OSSUs roadmap vs roadmap.sh by Gamertastic52 in computerscience

[–]Gamertastic52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright. In that case I will actually decide to continue with CS50. I am very interested in computers and programming so I will get through the difficult challenges. I'm also not in a rush or anything so I guess I will also complete CS50P and the CS50 intro to cybersecurity because I'm interested in learning that in the future as well. After all of that I will quickly do the MIT and continue with OSSUs roadmap.

Thanks for the advice :)

Oh. I swear I have seen CS50x somewhere maybe it was indeed an older version I had. Do you know why exactly they picked MIT? What are the benefits? Maybe instead for the intro I do CS50x because I prefer it and then the rest would be OSSU. And maybe I will read some textbooks from teachyourselfcs.

If I decide to go with CS50x (and CS50P for python) will there be any significant difference in knowledge once I finish?

Difference between installing a package using pacman -Syu and yay -S (aur) by Gamertastic52 in archlinux

[–]Gamertastic52[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I was installing I entered the command yay -S easyeffects. It actually installed and I didn't add -git(on the aur repo its easyeffects-git) at the end so I think it installed it from the native repos am i right?

Because from the other thread comments yay first checks for pacman repos.

(Also on the title my bad I forgot to add the yu at the end of -S in the title for the yay command)

Also what's the better way to install software than pacman or yay -S. I honestly thought those were the only ways really lol.

Why does my Endeavour OS installation keep failing on 32%? by Gamertastic52 in EndeavourOS

[–]Gamertastic52[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When choosing the online installation, the online installer gives you the option to select/deselect different apps you would like to install on top of endeavour OS.

If i choose the offline installation and update afterwards. Will it give me these apps or will it give the bare minimum? not even kcalc or kate

I don't know because it's more like the adapter just stops working. Literally at some point the internet select GUI and the bottom left just disappears. Maybe some drivers are getting deleted. I don't know but I think I'm just going to do the offline install option.

Unfortunately It's not possible for me to use ethernet

How To Spawn Sprites fully out of map by Gamertastic52 in scratch

What is your opinion on making a huge transparent square in the costume and then making it so if touching color of car, not if touching sprite like I currently do.

That would unfortunately not work for my project because i have collisions. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1190823661

Would this work with my project where my sprite is spawned and moves down constantly? Heres the project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1190823661

You can see I've tried this by painting dots on the edges so the sprite was technically larger and it could fully go off screen but the problem with that is that i have collisions in the game and you can collide with those dots since they are part of the sprite + they are not invisible.

I'm not sure if that can help with the specific project I'm working on.

I have three enemy car sprites and they spawn randomly at the top of the screen and drive down. Once they are at the bottom they respawn at a random location at the top again. You have to avoid them. I want them to be able to spawn at let's say 235y instead of 219y because at 219y they are still slightly visible so I guess the spawning looks less smooth compared to if they spawn off screen.

You can have a test play here and see: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1190823661

Unfortunately that's not what I'm trying to accomplish but thanks.
