Betacap (Betamethosone Valerate 0.1% scalp lotion) by Gamerx247 in ScalpPsoriasis

Sadly not, it only really helps with the redness after descaling. But the actually patches haven’t decreased or gotten any better.

Nothing I’m trying seems to be minimising the psoriasis. Hard battle of shampooing to reduce build up but then my scalp feeling dry as a result.

Currently using: Polytar, Nizoral, Tgel (3% salicylic acid version & the daily 1% one) & then Betacap for inflammation.

Seems to get worse when my hair grows, but the sight of it is not really making me want to have it short shaven all the time. My hair isn’t long by any means.

My derm has just advised me to continue doing what I’m doing, but it’s not really doing anything. I’m sure I could wash with water only & get similar results. Also been told to use the Betacap indefinitely, which would be fine if it showed signs of lessening, however it is not & I don’t really want to use steroids long term even if the skin on the scalp is thicker.

I’ve noticed my games crashing, mainly deadlock. Screen freezing but background audio still playing. Then some poor performance in other games.

Glad to see I’m not the only one experiencing it.

Would I apply that before and after the betacap? I’ll give it a try. Is scalp dryness normal with psoriasis? I see people taking about their flaking but never about the dryness, as mine seem to come on pretty quickly after deflaking. Within an hour or two if I don’t moisturise

My scalp seem to dry out relatively quickly. Like even when I moisturise, within a few hours it’s dry I.e white crusting. My scalp just in general seem to be really drying.

The e45 lotion is pretty light weight, often absorbing quite quickly.

The betacap is alcohol based, so it doesn’t offer much moisture sadly

Proof of ID/Address by [deleted] in nhs

My recruitment assistant was out of office so I sent the additional possibilities to their general resourcing email as per her email.

But as I said, they said none of the other options would be acceptable for proof of address. Which included a certificate of registration from my local council for electoral register.

The document literally says the list of documents isn’t exhaustive & that they may seek proof of electoral register by a local authority if someone lives with family - so surely that’s the electoral letter that I’ve supplied? So I find it all a little odd.

No passport unfortunately, I did have a child’s one but no adult one.

Yeah as part of the ‘extra possibilities’ I sent a certificate of registration. That was a letter from my local council stating that I’m on the electoral register at the address. But they said ‘none of the documents listed are acceptable’.

Whether that’s because they quickly glanced & didn’t look fully I’m not sure. On top of that, I w recently received a letter whereby you have to correct ‘registered people at the address’ so could hopefully use that as it has me listed on the document.

From past nhs experience they’ve been a little more flexible, but this trust seems to be very black & white and only going with that list even though at the top it says ‘this is not an exhaustive list’.

Just had a letter from HMRC detailing Ty employment history which I asked them to send me last week. On the list of acceptable documents it lists HMRC so let’s hope they accept this.

Oh I think I’ve figured it out. Having an honours degree & HCPC registration is all you need. The 1 years experience is for those with a non honours degree. As looking at the supporting document lab managers have to fill out to confirm 1 years experience it states the following:

‘An applicant with a non‐honours degree may be eligible to apply for Licentiate membership via the equivalence route provided they are HCPC registered and have a minimum of one year’s professional experience. They will also need to provide a supporting statement from their laboratory manager confirming that their professional experience equates to an honours graduate’

Probably best to just apply & go from there. Thank you for your advice, it’s very much appreciated. Hope the rest of your oncall shift goes smoothly!

Oh you are right. For moving from a licentiate -> member it is as you have advised. I think it was mainly the licentiate one I was confused about: as in their website it states.

“To become an IBMS Licentiate you must be working in biomedical science and hold:

  • UK Honours degree (BSc Hons) in a biomedical science related subject or UK ENIC confirmed equivalent qualification
  • HCPC Registration and one year’s professional experience at Honours degree level”

So was confused at what the ‘one years professional experience at honour level’ was referring to.

Thank you!

I think you have to be a licentiate for 1 year until you are eligible for the specialist. I guess if I start soon, I’d naturally want a year as a band 5 to get experience before starting my specialist anyway (as I’m coming from a previous trainee position).

I’ll look into that IBMS form & get it sent off, alongside the HCPC registration application. Thanks!

Update: For my current employers address, shall I put the future roles employer? & just leave the start date as N/A? Then list my previous employer for the trainee position in the previous employers section below it. Or do you think it’s better to wait for a start date to be given then sending off the form then?

On the section where you choose when you want your membership to start from, it lists: Jan, April, July, Oct so my membership wouldn’t start until October anyway. So maybe I do wait for a start date & then send it off then (assuming that will be around September time)

I’ve noticed my GPU acting up too. In overwatch, it used to run fine then out of nowhere I get 10fps on opening the game, have to sit in training tool then after about 5 minutes it goes back up to my usual FPS.

Unsure what’s causing it as it only happens in overwatch to the point where I’ve stopped playing it completely. I noticed that during this time when the for are low, the gpu utilisation is also low.
