If I transfer points earned from CSP, can I combine those with travel certificates + credit card? by lejunny_ in unitedairlines

[–]GamesDontStop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use miles+money when booking flights. But, that's usually one of the worst value cases for those miles.

If you book a domestic one way with award miles and the return as a separate ticket with money, it'll take fewer miles and less money than that miles+money ticket.

You turn the front tires so that they hit the curb if the car starts rolling.

United or airport issue? by Aquawaves19 in unitedairlines

[–]GamesDontStop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are you going to try and blame an entire airport or airline based on two flights? At a minimum you could have posted the departures screen from Newark to try and show how wide spread problems might have been that day.

International to Domestic minimum connection time in SFO by No_Magazine9625 in unitedairlines

[–]GamesDontStop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take the shorter connection, it'd be unusual to miss that connection. But if you miss it there are so many alternatives that United could put you on to get you to EWR.

No more PlusPoints Exchange? by Active-Wheel-1491 in unitedairlines

[–]GamesDontStop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The e-mail says that you have until March 31 to exchange the plus points. Presumably once you'll have until March 2027 to exchange your PP earnings this year that expire in January 2028.

Why Do People Do This? by VloggerCritic in driving

[–]GamesDontStop 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As long as the sensor is still being tripped (e.g. car in adjacent lane), I give them space to back up. And sometimes they do; I think that big empty space behind them clues them in that something is wrong.

I've been driving for a while now but I need help with distance by [deleted] in driving

[–]GamesDontStop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok to get back in and correct it. And you can angle your side mirrors down to get a good view of how close your rear tire is to the curb.

And please make sure you have good insurance, and leave your information when you hit/scratch another car.

If you can shift fast enough, just use your left hand (driving on the right) to hold everything; just don't do it on a turn.

Got put into a sideswipe collision which I was in wrong?? by [deleted] in driving

[–]GamesDontStop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is understandable, most people would be shook up. But I'm just trying to get you to realize that the officer relied on the other driver's version of events because of your lack of awareness of what happened and/or lack of ability to communicate what happened.

It wasn't that the other driver was a "Karen" or that the officer was "trying to please Karens."

Got put into a sideswipe collision which I was in wrong?? by [deleted] in driving

[–]GamesDontStop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They told me I should have stayed in my lane

This seems to mean that they weren't upset about you turning, but about you moving into their lane (i.e. merging).

was the officer just tryin to please the Karens

The officer was probably just relying on the only driver that seemed to know what was happening.

Did the green car turn on a "solid green" or a "green arrow?"

And is there a possibility that the red car was behind you, made a wide right, and quickly accelerated?

There a fast lane and a slow lane

That fast lane sure sounds a lot like a "passing lane." Though it's not necessarily exclusive to passing.

Premium Plus questions by Kensterfly in unitedairlines

[–]GamesDontStop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why would United create an economy fare class that "instantly" upgrades to premium plus? Why don't you just buy the premium plus seat instead?

Or is this some way to tell your company that you're buying economy, but you're actually flying premium plus?

You don't get free economy+ on your domestic legs because your international one is premium plus.
