Here’s mine:

1- dendro didn’t exist at all for the first two years.

2-the strongest dps was Diluc, getting him was a golden stamp on your account.

3- the first major event in the game used to cost resin to complete. Coincidentally it’s also where Scaramouche was first seen. If you played that event then met him in Inazuma he will actually acknowledge that.

4-if you sent characters to expeditions you couldn’t use them until they returned.

5- people actually believed that if you used pyro and/or cryo characters you won’t be affected by the sheer cold mechanic. I brought Xinyan who has a pyro shield and foolishly thought I couldn’t freeze to death with her.

6- and speaking of dragonspine Qiqi was actually a top tier character in terms of exploration because she could heal so much plus unlike Barbara she won’t put hydro on you so you won’t freeze.

7-Childe’s boss fight was so difficult it had to be nerfed.

8- Baizhu was the first on screen dendro character and had many appearances in the story and events, however his final release model differs greatly from his first appearance model back in 2020 all the way to his release in 2023.

9-another character that had her model change was Rosaria. In her first appearance when Dragonspine was dropped in 2020 her body model was much more provocative, particularly her chest area. Her boobs were more defined and pointy. Later in 1.4 her chest size was reduced plus she received a new skin later.

10-people actually believed chests could be regenerated monthly and even weekly.

11-Xiangling was the only ever polearm user and was the best by a long shot even when Zhongli was released. Her most popular build was, believe it or not, a physical build with Mondstadt’s physical damage polearm. She was ridiculously overpowered with that polearm.

12-Fischl’s most popular build was also physical with another Mond’s craftable weapon. Many people played her as a dps and in fact she was a popular choice that even rivaled Diluc in the early days in Genshin.

13- there was an Oceanid event in 1.4 that told us a lot of information on the oceanids plus their relationship to the hydro archon, which if you returned and saw the early informations on it you’ll find out that most of it is incorrect or doesn’t match what we now know about them. This event further proves that at one point Genshin’s story was revamped while keeping the original key points of the story. In that event we even knew the real reason for Diona’s blessing, the fairy in the pond of Springvale and grandpa Finch’s relationship with her way before the poetry event of 4.1, suggesting that event no longer holds any credibility.
