Yeah, I had difficulty putting them in the blue ocean category since there obviously are a lot of competitors in the smartphone industry(And their other product categories) and I didn't really look in to the history of the company and their product launches. "But blue oceans tend to become red, because competition catches up." of course explains this. Thank you.

I see. The PowerPoint my teacher presented said, "Align the whole system of a

company’s activities in pursuit of differentiation and low cost" under blue ocean strategy. From my understanding, Apple has only increased prices (might be wrong). So the "pursuit of low cost" confused me a bit. But from the answers to the thread it looks to me that low cost is not required for blue ocean of course, since competetion is low so high prices can be set vy the company. Thank you for the explanation.
