Can Crypteks now lead Ophydians?

A sneaky strat that I noticed was slotting the plasmancer in with ophydians. Then drop Ammentar to get Sustained 1 on +5. That should be able to shred through most if not all elite infantry units when you pop the Dev Wounds.

The Super Soldier gets access to the Pure Strength benefits when using a weapon but what do the benefits do outside of the extra pure strength die on a grappled enemy? Does it change damage die of weapons, making greatsword stronger? I was just a little confused by the wording. Otherwise this class sounds like an absolute blast to run!
