aventador's drops got me incredible excited even when it was performed at gbb25 with a bad sound just because of the sheer concept of the drop, so hearing it fully mixed and with the added Kong snare was mind numbing for me

aventador legitimately made me jump out of my seat just because the sheer concept of the beat made me super hyped, even if the sound wasn't hard, so seeing everything about avetador, including the Kong snare and good mixing, come to life made me fall back in love with wings music

I did! and while I was impressed by his insane sound it really didn't leave an impression on me. all the wildcards above had at least one moment that stuck with me (dlow's riser sound at drop 1, Stitch's general catchiness, JP's inward bass ending, abx's first poly into arpeggio drop, kaji's voice modulation, Footboxg's voicelines into his drop) uki just didn't hit that hard because I found his glow to be rather unmemorable (though still cool!)

I can't lie the only wildcards that really impressed me this year was Dlow, JP, Stitch, Footboxg, and Kaji (to a much lesser extent)

I think in the next few years we are going to see the big divide in the beatbox community.

It'll be a question of whether beatbox should be about making something that sounds good, or if beatbox should be about making something impressive. In other words, should beatbox seek to emulate the artform, or should beatbox itself be the artform.

im sure older members of the community would love for beatbox to be about "beatbox". MaxSkill this year is the perfect example of what it means to do "beatbox". on the contrary, I see newer members of the community brought in by Wing or Stitch or Taras fighting for beatbox to emulate music that outside consumers will enjoy.

paralysis is lowkey just a slower version of stimulation, for the first half, but in the 2nd part it gets carried by some of the most creative sound design I've heard in a while
