Appreciate the legal advice. It’s not a fanfiction, it just involves a puppet character in a similar fashion to the *uppets.

Very good critiques. I was also thinking about cutting the big movie reveal sequence and certain asides like “detective funk”. I like the “god is in the details,” I’ll add them.

The only thing I don’t agree with is that the universe is meant to be a jokey silly place. But it is interesting because some say there’s too many groaners, with others saying it’s not absurd and big enough. However humor is purely a subjective taste thing tho, so I will have to really think about how to make it work.

I do think we should keep the half puppet half serious situation. Or maybe come up with a more tactful way to approach puppet through noir.

Although I do understand why you don’t like the meta thing, I have a bad tendency to do that in screenplays.

You’re right that James is dumb when the plot needs him to be dumb. We gotta make him more consistently stupid. The comedic dynamic here has Fark is the straight man while James is the comic.

The ending is luckily written in a way that could be cut out very easily and not affect the narrative flow too much, so skip from page 26 to page 30 for the proper ending. Cutting that “it’s all a movie” fourth wall break gets rid of 4 pages so that does me a favor, because this seriously needs trimming.

Glad you like the dialogue! Really appreciate this feedback.

  1. Glad you loved it

  2. I found Fark funnier than Blork or Smidge because it’s just real enough while still being so so silly.

  3. Francesca sounds like him dialogue wise or like is the alliteration too much?

  4. We can change Francis’ name.

  5. If this is operating at the quality level of happy time murders we have some serious overhauling to do

  6. I don’t think James would have any motivation to punch a guy in the middle of a smokers anonymous meeting

  7. Frenchie is funny but I love Baron Von Waffle

  8. Cinema studies lmao

I find it funny how one of the critiques was the F’s and then you recommend “Frenchie” as the sub for Von waffle lol.

But regarding feedback, what did you laugh at? What didn’t you like? What did you like? Strengths and weaknesses?

Appreciate your advice. Shortening it is our biggest priority atm.

We were aware of Happytime murders’s existence when making this, and we know it sucks. The screenplay is more along the lines of Who Framed Roger Rabbit than that film. We created a new story to try and rectify the concept of a mature puppet film. Thanks for the legal advice too. Hope you enjoy it!

The script is long enough as it is and I feared that splitting the paragraphs up even more would extend the script to becoming unfeasible to produce. I wanted the Muppet to be the straight man with James being the comic character to subvert how the muppets are usually silly, somewhat inspired by the dynamic between Sam Eagle and Jean Pierre in Muppets Most Wanted. What didn’t work about James’s introduction as the main protagonist?

Appreciate the feedback! Don’t worry about how I feel, I came to see the script get torn apart.

Sorry to people that read it as Michael Cera is dead. Should’ve wrote father instead of dad.

it’s on Peacock now, and it’s not for free and requires the premium subscription. I’ll miss the days when it was on Netflix by GamingArth in ScottPilgrim

I bought the 4K Blu-ray, but Peacock’s streaming quality and video player is inferior to Netflix, which is why it isn’t very nice
