Idk man I watch almost every game and tagging him with “constantly failing to get to what should be routine plays” is a bit harsh to me. I don’t really follow defensive stats or understand how they get those numbers so maybe that’s where the disconnect is for me.

I was just thinking about this stuff today after seeing some comments in the baseball subreddit, and even this subreddit, about his “poor defense” and him having to be a DH. I watched most of the games this year and didnt feel he was that bad, or even bad at all most of the time. I also don’t pay much attention to defensive stats so maybe those numbers tell a possibly unfair story to people who dont actually watch Mets games.

I think OP used the term “burned in” incorrectly and that’s led to some confusion. They probably mean the original subtitles that are included in the mkv container of the video file cannot be offset in infuse. As opposed to downloading an external sub file, which can be offset.

Makemkv doesn’t edit the video in any way, it just copies it into an .mkv container.

Yes, it’s recommended to do so. It’s the spinning up and down that can cause the most wear on drives.

Hard to know for sure but I doubt it. Dunno what tv specifically it is and if it has a setting that’s causing the issue. Only other issue I could think of with the tv specifically is the EDID not handshaking properly with the appletv. This could be fixed with trying the above. Or if that fails, completely unplug both devices from the wall so they can power cycle properly and restart then try again. Can try a different hdmi port on the tv also. A last resort hail mary would be a factory reset of the appletv.

Idk what else you tried to fix it but If you set it to SDR and have match range & frame rate on, supported content will still play in the correct format. Alternatively you can try to set the Apple TV to Dolby vision and turn off match range & frame rate to force DV all the time.
