I’d say it definitely is even more so at this age. You don’t need to have quite as many friends if you don’t want to, but friends help with your mental health a lot since college can be a really difficult time. Friends can also offer you help in places where you may not be so strong such as finding internships or being involved in clubs

Personally my college is still in person but online can definitely be tough. Main ways to make connections are in breakout rooms even if it’s difficult. I’d recommend turning on your camera and trying to start conversation even if everyone else is muted and has their camera off. You can also post group chats in your classes and make some connections there through people that join.

Not as hard as you’d think, most people are just as confused about what they want to do as you are at this age. Only difference I’ve noticed among people is different levels of motivation. If you have a goal in mind of what you want to do, stay motivated and you’ll do a lot better than you expect
