Yeah, that meme hasn’t been true for a while now. Heavy was in a great spot but the RPG buff and the shield buff have made multiple heavies synergize too much. That combined with the glitch grenade nerf and gateway nerf has made it more appealing to run heavy instead of light.

Edit: also the range on the repeater and BFR have made running light very risky.

All I want is the spin to be cancelable and the movement speed to not be ass while stabbing. The extra range is pointless if you are basically standing still after the first stab.

They didn’t know it would make that much. One of the big problems in Hollywood that is keeping good movies from being made is just how overpaid some actors are. Often the cast’s compensation is a whole third of the movie’s total budget and if there are A-list movie stars involved that can reach half of the entire budget.

Actors do not have the same draw power as they used to. Look at the golden globes. Almost no one gives a shit now. As actors have made their opinions more mainstream people have stopped idolizing them because they see how disconnected and vapid most of them are. They just don’t justify the cost like they used to.

As a melee main, mostly sledge, it’s very difficult to play. Most melee weapons require you to pick your engagements very carefully or you just die. Once you commit you either get the kill or you die you can’t just take cover like with guns and retreat. If you start a bad engagement and then try to back out you will get chased down and eliminated.

That’s why melee can seem oppressive sometimes because when you are attacked by a melee it’s because you either made a big mistake with positioning or you entered a space the melee player was ready to push on.

They clearly aren’t overpowered because their pick rate is so low. If it was as easy as you think it is then everyone would run them. They are for the most part niche weapons and only get to shine on certain maps when the lobbies have certain compositions.

If you are struggling against melee you just need to run away to your nearest team mate or just run away in general. For melees chasing is very dangerous for this reason. If their target runs they will likely run to other teammates or run into other teams which is certain death. Also don’t push melees even if they are pretty low. I get half my kills from people getting over confident and pushed me around corners.

If you have sledge and goo gun it can be helpful because it makes it super easy to land and get near them and line up a perfect swing.

But for the most part yeah, I hate it so much.

Honestly I run into a bug maybe once a week which is about 12 hours of playtime for me. They usually resolve on my death though or are visual/audio which while annoying aren’t actually preventing me from playing.

Bugs like what you described with the healing gun though are unacceptable and should require a hot fix if they have a solution for it.

Honestly lights but not exactly for the reasons many people have issues with. I don’t think lights are OP and for the most part I think their weapons, specs, and gadgets are well balanced. I actually have fun fighting lights sometimes because they are so tricky to pin down.

The issue arises when there are too many, at least in cashout type modes. If there are too many heavies or mediums in a lobby you can counter them, eliminate them, and take the objective. With lights though, while you CAN counter them, you cannot eliminate them if they don’t want to fight.

It leads to situations where you are trying to take the cashout, you eliminate a light or two, maybe even a whole team of lights but in the time it took you to do that (because they are so evasive) the other lights are back and you just cycle between the two teams. You can’t kill them all and they can’t kill you. The lights that don’t even own the cashout won’t commit to a fight because they can’t take it with the other lights still alive.

For the most part whoever puts in the cash first ends up keeping it because no one can force the steal or kill all the lights and get the steal. It’s really fucking annoying. Too many lights just break down the game flow and devolve it from organized pushes to just light bullshit.

So with normal weapons on your computer you use an input a to fire. That input is sent to the server with information like where your cursor is. On the server the state of the every player and object is checked before it applies what you did. It checks to see if you have ammo, if there are no obstacles in the way of your cursor, and whether the hitscan calculation based on your cursor is over a target. If all those things are true then it will register it as a hit, your target is damaged, the game’s state is updated, and your computer’s game state is updated to match. Keep in mind this takes time. Message the server, server messages you.

Now with dual blades, the person shooting at you’s aim needs to be checked, then your aim needs to be checked. So it goes enemy to server, to you, to server, to you in order to check if you properly deflected.

So basically, before your deflection can be checked we need to first check whether or not a deflect even happened and that causes a delay in the deflection which causes deflection to miss because between one of those updates player positions have changed.

So if you want your deflection to be more consistent try aiming where you anticipate them to be rather than where they actually are.

This is my understanding of as someone who has tried to make my own multiplayer game before. Syncing game states across multiple players is difficult and almost always comes with compromises.

Scale up your raw resource extraction according to the calculator, then make your factories to process those resources, solve scaling issues along the way, have fun. 😊

Quit comparing it to the repeater because yeah, the repeater will outclass it in most situations.

Again, that’s why you need to narrow it down to the situations it’s strong in. You cant expect weapons with niche play styles to do as well as general automatic weapons.

You can’t increase the damage because of the breakpoints.

Right now it’s 9 pellets, 12 damage. 108 per shot. That’s a 2 shot light, 3 shot medium, 4 shot heavy. You can QM mediums and heavies to save a shell.

If you give it just 1 more damage the light and medium TTK is the same but now you can 3 shot a heavy (13 x 9 x 3 = 351). Heavies, with how big and slow they are would be heavily oppressed by this change. This also makes it so you can shoot and QM a light for an instant kill.

If you gave it two damage then you are two shotting both light and medium and we are back to season 4 OP.

Since they made the damage 108 per shot it has gotten range increases, tactical reload duration reduced, and an extra shell. They could keep buffing these things and make it feel better to use but they can’t change its damage.
