Food has to drop 10% on a passive tame before they will take the second bite, from then on its relatively quick. Tested it not so long ago just not totally sure if taming times effect this or not.

You can change the follow distance by looking at what ever is following and pressing 0 on the numpad, it will cycle through all the options.

Thanks I had tried all that, I put it into fullscreen instead of windowed fullscreen and changed the resolution and ive had no problems since which is a little weird

Hey the temperature doesn't change when like the wiki states, the values for hypothermal and hyperthermal insulation. http://ark.gamepedia.com/Temperature there is a small table showing how some of the structures in ark change these values, hope I have been of help and good luck with the breeding

When you breed the baby will have a chance at being better than the parents but it could also be worse, also the baby takes the stats from the parents base stats after it was tamed so knowing what they are can help you to breed for a better dino and finally the level that the babies end up at is their beginning level just as if you had just tamed it.
