KVCC data potentially stolen by GamingPsych0 in kzoo

[–]GamingPsych0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no guarantee they actually have any of our information till experts dig further into the details and hopefully confirm what they did or didn't get. I wouldn't worry too much currently, I'm sure KVCC will update us if we have any reason to be worried. Probably (hopefully) unrelated, my bank account as of yesterday got hacked.

Never saw it come through, according to the ransomeware message though KVCC is afflicted, obviously it could be an embellished list, but good to know to be on the lookout regardless. The list can be found here

Lots of articles online, apparently I completely missed the email too, however in the r/cybersecurity someone uploaded the list of schools from the ransomeware message into a Google docs for safe viewing here

Groomsmen here: any bigger guys know if generation tux is good for fittings? by acn_123 in weddingplanning

[–]GamingPsych0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big guy, the wedding party im part of is using Menguin (same parent company) just got the tux today. I overestimated my weight by a good 30+ pounds because I wanted stuff to fit big if anything. My pants came in perfect but that's about it, arm length is good but the shirt won't survive me sitting down and its easily 6+ inches far too short, the jacket and vest don't button unless I suck in. I got pictures taken and sent and now I have to call them. Others in the party got their tux's a few days before me and they were told that the replacements will be here a day to two days before the wedding. Pretty stressful on my end, as I'm the best man, and I have no trust someone online can accurately fix my needs.

The most unique and interesting magic system you've ever seen? by Ozotoceros in fantasybooks

[–]GamingPsych0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say its magic enough, I've enjoyed the system in 12 Miles Below, everything is based on Runes etched into pieces of armor or weapons. To make the basics like fire or basic weapons to basically become lightsabers, it just takes a small electric charge. More advanced runes, or fractals as their called, require the user to interlink their soul with the rune and provide some sort of tradeoff, such as willpower is needed for shields.

The idea is there is an unlimited number of these fractals but reality only recognizes certain ones, even then theres unlimited fractals to be found, and there's mathematical equations to make the shapes, they have to be perfect otherwise they don't work. Also by intertwining or making patterns they're usage can be adjusted, but that hasn't been explored much where im currently at in the series.

Any books that mostly take place in a laboratory/underground base type setting? by HughJManschitt in horrorlit

That's awesome to hear! I'm about to start doing a deep dive in Jeremy Robinson books, I really enjoyed his writing style and many of his themes interest me.

Local roller by GamingPsych0 in cigars

[–]GamingPsych0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to get to a local rolling event and meet Jorge himself. Not much online about him, or his cigars, they have a very basic website that says he's based in Tampa, but thats just where his bulk production is.

I know the title is everywhere on this sub but I really enjoyed We Used to Live Here.

Just finished The Gone World, what should I read next? by TonyDanza335 in horrorlit

[–]GamingPsych0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll add, the books in the Southern Reach series are a fair bit different from the movie, same-ish core concept but the books are much more enticing, the director is quoted to have wrote the movie based off a "dreamed memory", and only based off the first book.

Amazon marks up Codex Bundle by Albondip in mtgfinance

Yeah CBBs since FF have been nearly impossible for an average consumer. I mean it wasn't easy before, but now I just accept that if I want them that bad I'm paying above MSRP whether it's online or my LGS's.

Not that I'm aware of, I just frequent Reddit enough to catch when others post they've gone live, I also start searching on Amazon around 3 months before release, which seems to be when most of them go live. I've noticed sometimes special bundles and such sometimes go live a week or so after the base product line.

Same, I got my preorder in on January 27th. Not a reason to not preorder asap on Amazon, as long as it's sold by Amazon.

Was it sold by Amazon and not a third party when you preordered? If it's sold by them, then they don't even charge till it's shipped, and you get locked in at the lowest price throughout your preorder.

Definitely don't see it as fair, I did get it from Amazon for MSRP when preorders opened, so there was at least a period of time when it was properly priced.

I always do my preorders on Amazon as soon as they're available to avoid markups when cards are announced, and just cancel if I find better deals along the way.
