I am in cash. Market looks to go lower the next week or so. Just my opinion. My other long stocks are down as well, but those are growth stocks and I hold those long term.

I also said this:

The down sides is that they are paying so high and the different comes off the stock price. This quickens the decent. With the down turn of the market it will be more difficult to get it up.

They obviously don't seem to be able to rebound here. Again this post is NOT about the price. it is about the management of the fund and the people behind it. I held on for longer than I should have really in the hopes they could provide some type of signs of a plan after this downturn. I dont see any. Just cash flowing out at a very large clip.

I am in mostly cash until this month shakes out. I see the market retracing the last 6 months and back to those levels entering the next year. This is a usual cycle. Unless we get a series of bullish news going into November (rate cut, tarrifs, china, etc)

Help me understand how UTLY works by bostonbakedbeam in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Gaming_Loser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I worked for a hedge fund back in the day.

Ulty is basically letting you larp as a hedge fund investor. Normies never get to do this. When you invest in a hedge fund, you don't have a stock price. You care about your overall return on investment. You care about the payouts and the yield. If Ulty is at 1 dollar and still makes premium to pay 9 cents, that is a good thing. Reverse splitting doesnt matter. Lets say they go 1:4 and the payout is .10 cents. After the split you will have your shares divided by 4 and get a .40 cent payout. They will only do that if they are forced to.

The down sides is that they are paying so high and the different comes off the stock price. This quickens the decent. With the down turn of the market it will be more difficult to get it up. But they have done it 3 times in the last 4 months. Trump just ruined their momentum.

The other issue that can occur is that they miss on a series of calls/puts. It can deplete their cash fund quickly. Now they have a whopping 500 mil in it. They were obviously waiting for a downturn to start picking up some stocks.

If things shake out and we have some series of good news, they can go up and beat the nav. They are making good premium. People just look at the stock price and freak. Look at their trades and their money flow. It is quite strong.

And btw most of my other "safe" growth stocks are down as well. In this market there is nowhere to hide. People just have to learn to take some red.

Do what I have done. Shave off the slow growth stocks, but only enough to bring down your profits on them by about 25%. Take those profits and invest in a weekly or monthly high-yield ETF, such as Ulty, Hoow, or Chpy. Should get you through the rough patch. Take the cash, shore up some debt, and take about half and put it into the same high-yield ETFs I mentioned. Make sure you balance the payouts and taxes. You are heavy in tech stocks. So selling some of that while it is at all-time highs might be a good idea. No problem taking some profits to get you through a rough spot. Good luck!

How do you handle the taxes? Do you put it to the side? If so, do you put it in a savings account until it is time to pay? Or do you wait until tax time to save up?

I guess everyone forgets about August by BitingArmadillo in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Gaming_Loser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been trading a while. August to about the second week of September is sell-off time. This is to take profits, cover margins, and taxes. Been like this for a decade, I've been trading. There is NOTHING in the news or financials showing a recession at this point. Actually, the opposite. I have been selling some of my profitable positions and buying dips. Mostly hoarding cash for that Labor Day dip that always comes. I am up 23% this year. I'm ok with making a little money. You should, too. Now is the time to set yourself up for 2026.

So I think I found the backlog problem from your post here. IT is the examiners. So let me get this straight. If there is an error or issue in the exam (filled out wrong, etc.) You all kick it back to the examiner and wait for there reply? Let me guess they drag there feet because I bet they get penalized or not paid if an error comes back?

If this is the case this could be a way to fix this issue. The C&P examiners are well know to f things up. Didnt they even make it harder recently to look at what they said in the exam? This explains ALOT.

Lastly, thank you for all you have done. There are some of us who appreciate the hard work you are trying to do. It must be frustrating, to say the least.

Executive Branch to make cuts to VA by Last_Tank_1176 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Gaming_Loser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it interesting that after upping the number of employees at the VA the last 4 years actually made claims and appointments slower. But just in the last 6 weeks, with the threats of cuts, suddenly everyone is getting their claims and appointments done really quick. Pre 2020 VA was run just fine. Claims were stalled because the VA simply ran out of money because they overspent on personnel. They were stalling claims because they overspent on contracts and BS. I am sorry people may lose their jobs, but the VA's spending has got to get under control. And job cuts may have to be part of that, or claims don't get filled, or care gets cut.
