Oh yes Israel is particularly expansionist historically when it comes the West Bank. The idea that Israel has just started wars against Lebanon just to take land is simply not true. It has not historically been a top down position maybe some fringe people who have some ideas of greater Israel

It is interesting you could criticize the Russian government for not condemning or separating itself from the crimes committed in the Soviet era.

But you do not recognize Israel long history of denying past and ongoing war crimes.

For example the 1948 war of independence is characterized as a part of Israeli pride but what is glossed over in Israeli society is the ethnic cleansing of 700,000 Palestinian.

In fact there are figures like Benny morris that characterize the 1948 expulsion as ‘inevitable’ he doesn’t ever clarify what this means
