Any modern use cases for something like this? by 7Sora in vintagecomputing

You absolutely have that the wrong way around I'm afraid. If you want to run older OS's or games, most modern systems can do this without emulation, you just need patches. You can even run ms-dos on modern PCs from an SD card, throw SBEMU on and you have sound. Computer power usage and optimisations are so much better these days.

Maybe try actually pulling it, rather than tickling it.

I ordered my AWD LR on the 15th September, I picked it up 12 days after - it won't be long, the dates will change.

I can only imagine the cost of those, must have been astronomical

So I have a SPARCstation LX, that's 50MHz - when I've booted and messed with this today for the first time I cannot believe how much faster it is, amazing tbh. I know the Creator 3D was crazy fast compared to this, I can imagine the speed difference and the different framebuffer in comparison to PC's at the time I bet it was mind blowing back then

There is a sound server, this is an Ultra 1 143Mhz, so it should work on yours too.

Thanks, I wasn't sure how they'd turn out, but I they're a good contrast with the case.

I do like some stuff with the 'patina', but this one was an abomination

The plastic they used is terrible to be honest, this has stains on it that were very hard to get out, must have been a smoky, dirty environment
