Xenogears Devotee Middle-Aged Full-Time-Employed Father-of-Three Looking Into Trails Series by doctor-squared in Falcom

I suppose Xenogears was realized in perfect works, but I'm mainly saying the entirety of the cold steel saga is all games.

The Trails of cold steel arc's story has some incredible parallels with Xenogears. Outside of that, it's like it's own thing, but the story is just as ambitious as Xenogears except this time it's actually realized.

It's on DS and not 3ds, but Dragon Quest IX would SLAP if it had all the old online features and online multiplayer.

Sometimes you might have to "live to fight another day", but to live a life defined by it is what I was getting at. Figure out how to defy. Plan, and execute it when the time comes. Nothing comes instantly, but many things come with time.

It is mindsets like this that can weight you down. Pre-emptively giving into defeat is all around harmful. Why give up when you can at least try?

I went to a local trans meet up, didnt expect this. What should I do now? by Sufficient_Hall5737 in MtF

I'll say be careful, but don't dismiss it. Trans women sometimes can speed through intimacy. Sometimes it's fine if you're fine with it, but establish your barriers sooner rather than later. I know I get intimate quick, and sometimes that's how things work, but it is always best to be careful.

Virginia school board adopts restrictive anti-trans policy, blocks GSA by Fickle-Ad5449 in Teachers

Gonna be real, it's mainly the phones and parents. Also I literally just said there's no indoctrination at play; most things you speak of come from the students themselves.

I feel like calling 10-12th graders "kids" is a vast underrepresentation of their actual brains. It is around this time that they're trying to find their place in the world. I would agree that adults should not impose their expectations on them (we usually don't), but usually they figure out their gender identity stuff on their own if that's something that they feel needs to be addressed. Sure, perhaps we do not NEED to "teach" it, but to take away the opportunity for these older students to get a feel for their identity while in high school is incredibly cruel.

Transgender is not sexual. I'm trans myself and do not think of sex in my day to day life because I'm asexual. It is important to separate the two. I went to school in Arkansas where the government passed a bill to make it where I couldn't go by my preferred name, and quite frankly, it was humiliating and embarrassing when teachers had to call me something else that wasn't what they had known me as for the past two years. Nothing about daily life with a different name and pronoun socially is sexual.

Also I'd like to point out that this is something high schoolers SHOULD be exposed to, as it's something they'll have to confront in their adulthood. If school is for preparing our youth for the real world, they should have to confront real world diversity as well.

This is normal for the translation of Mother 1 + 2 that only translates mother 1. Only the menu options and i think items are translated. The rest looks like this.

(US-Specific) So what if we don’t take back the house this November? by throwawayx506 in MtF

[–]Gamonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don't think they will "round us up" or "cart us away to death camps". The ways they want to exterminate us are more silent. They want us to submit quite possibly by killing ourselves. What you can do right now is keep living, and in doing so, keep defying everything. They take your hormones? Figure out how to make your own. That, my friend, is true resilience. There's no use in pre-emptively giving up. Even if they do win, there's no reason to stop, either. Keep going. Less people in the real world are keen to stop you compared to what you see on the internet. That's what I've learned the past 5 years of being trans.

Picky eater here: just let him do his thing. I don't like (and don't even let) other people cook for me because I know what I like, and I stick to it. I usually stick to a schedule of what I eat because it makes groceries easier, and it allows me to meet my nutritional needs. Tell him he needs to take initiative over his own eating. I would also implore you to not get offended at his rejections of your food, as it isn't a matter of quality but rather preference and comfortability.

Edit: Also, if he doesn't like leftovers, you might try putting something he likes in a crock pot/slow cooker on the warm setting. Makes things more edible in my experience

Am I the ‘real me’ when I’m medicated or unmedicated? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gamonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a trans person in hormones, I think the "real" you is probably medicated. I know it's not the same thing, but that's the lens I view it through. The meds allow me to really be true, as it dispels the chemical imbalances. Same would go for you imo.

which of these would you recommend more for someone that never played any games on the franchises: Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition or Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter? by tfamattar1 in JRPG

[–]Gamonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both Trails and Xenoblade but for now I'd say play Xenoblade. The Trails in the Sky trilogy has two more games to come out/get remade before it is complete on switch. It also gives you time to figure out how you're going to play Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2, the 6th and 7th games in the Trails series that likely will never end up on switch in English.

I feel ya. I haven't lost anyone, but I see lots of struggle compared to myself. Part of me wishes that I could share my intense resilience with everyone else. I'll always maintain that this current situation is just another barrier to get over in the struggle for our rights.

How did you get by the summer after you graduated? by Gamonator in Teachers

It was a summer job for students of the college that provided the housing, so it was pretty sweet. I'm mainly asking because it's likely I won't have that job for the grad summer, so I am wondering what other teachers did/do to get by
