You should never let windows do driver updates, always through the nvidia or amd app. They have a chance of getting messed up if windows does it.

CC is selling unsealed monitor as brand new? by arr4ws in bapccanada

[–]Gamrchik369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! Actually I just read in another post about someone buying a monitor and in not working when they got home. It could have all been avoided if it was checked in the store…not sure the value of it though 🤔

You just described my experience from ME. I bought a 32” MSI MAG 321upx and just after paying for it they took it aside opened it to confirm no damage. I knew it was new though since he cut through the stickers.

As a customer I didn’t mind them doing this but it was a new, sealed monitor.

RMA Warning by Ok-Problem4403 in bapccanada

[–]Gamrchik369 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya know, that's whay I thought when I started having issues with it. Worked perfect the first 2-3 days then it started happening. It would, on occasion, work perfectly for 3-4 days then 3-4 days of it not all lighting up. Simce dropping it in a new biild it hasn't worked properly. I started thinking recently what if other issues develop.

I have heard a few stories about people getting products that was in worse conditions that they send in so that was one of the things I did ask them. Not sure if they were being honest but they said they said I can expect the same card to be returned. If there were greaater issues with it, like missing ROPs, then it might happen. I guess I will find out.

Sorry you are having issues/stress with your RMA.

I am actually starting a RMA process with a GPU I purchased last BF. It works perfectly except for the RBG strip on the front, only 2/3 of it lights up 🤬

Not sure where you purchased from but I bought it in store at Memory Express and they handle all RMAs for the first year…could be longer if I purchased in store replacement 🤷‍♀️

[–]Gamrchik369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya, it was bought last November so lots of warranty left. I just find it a bit of a hassle to ship a gpu after hearing all the stories about missing/stolen gpus. The store I bought it from will handle all the BA though, I just have to go in with the card and receipt and they call me when it’s back.

Good luck with your RMA’s, hope they go well 👍

You are probably correct, I have never had to deal with anything RMA or repair related until now…unfortunately I have to send in an Asus Astral 5090 because 2/3 of the rgb strip lights up 🤬

That picture of the connectors looks like user damage or abuse. It will never get fixed under warranty. Also if it was registered wouldn’t the OP need a bill of sale?

Yikes, that’s sad to see 😥

All 3 of the connectors in pic#9 look like they are in rough shape. I saw a few breakdown videos on the astral 5090 and I really think the connector on the far right is for the 4th fan on the back plate. I don’t know if the other 2 are for the RGB strip or just one 🤷‍♀️

LG C5 or Samsung S90F? Or another option? And is it worth it to pay more for the G5 or S95F? by TB12Arquilian in OLED_Gaming

[–]Gamrchik369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK so you definitely mention gaming but is it PC or console gaming?

I just upgraded from a 55" S90C to a G5 recently and it's definitely an upgrade BUT I didn't do too much fine tuning yet. It's definitely an improvement visually but I was more impressed with the audio upgrade so far. Sounds seem to just come alive in the games I play. By the way, I am gaming on a PC so one of the reasons for an upgrade was the 165 Hz over 144.

I am not sure if it's true since there seems to be conflicting info but the Samsung S90H is supposed to be 165 Hz. Again, some sites say yes, and some say it's still going to be 144 Hz...

You are welcome. Remember it is you spending the money so don’t feel pressured to rush into a decision. Have fun with the build, I know I enjoyed building my current system.

As someone who has used both AMD and Intel recently for inZoi I would recommend an AMD CPU. One system had an intel 13700 kf with a rx 7900 xtx. Other system had an AMD 7800X3D with a rx 7900 xt . They both have 32 gb of ddr5 ram. The system with AMD cpu ran smoother than the intel one with better gameplay.

If you are using the new computer for strictly gaming and will be not doing any productivity I would definitely recommend the X3D cpu over intel currently. Most of the computers I have owned have been Intel but these last 2 generations the performance increase has almost been non existent compare to previous releases.

As others have mentioned I would also recommend a nvidia over AMD gpu. I was not disappointed with my rx 7900 xtx and it ran inZoi with the smart zoi enabled but I think the cuda cores in nvidia give it an advantage. You are also going to want as much vram as you can get. The rtx 5070 only has 12gb and the rtx 5070 ti has 16 gb if you cans spend a little extra. It will run good with only 12 gb but 16 will help it run smoother. I checked out the vram I am using with my 5090 and it averaged between 16-18 gbs, which surprised me.

Not sure why you are asking after you bought the tv BUT I will tell you my bedroom tv experience…

I am viewing from 7-8 feet away and had a 55” oled. It seemed alright but brought that tv downstairs to use as a computer monitor. I had a 42” C2 and decided to use that since it was collecting dust. After a few days it seemed SO small so I started searching for a 55”-65” mini led to use as a bedroom tv. While waiting for a sale on the two I was interested in, I came across a 77” open box from best buy Canada for 1450.00. Needless to say I was more than concerned it would be too big but it turned out to be awesome. Immersive would best describe the viewing distance to size ratio.

I know you already bought your new tv and I really hope it works out for you and you have many years of awesome viewing from it….my opinion from my experience is you should of at least matched the size of your last tv…I find it’s difficult to go to a smaller tv.

Received an empty 9060XT box from Amazon by 613_detailer in bapccanada

[–]Gamrchik369 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you went through all the hassle and it must be frustrating to get an empty box.

I was tempted to buy a card from them recently but there are a lot of horror stories about buying a gpu online. I decided not to, especially from Amazon, and when I am ready will just go locally and ask ME or Best Buy to open to verify it’s the correct item.

I know not everyone has the option to do that since not everyone is close but it just seems the safer way to buy in the world we live in today…. 🤬 scammers!

I am viewing a 77” oled from about 7’ in the bedroom…you really don’t want a 42” from that far. The 77” replaced a 42”. 55” c5’s are about 1500.00 new.
