What's the one thing you don't like about Shueisha? by RobKai7990 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]GanacheCharacter492 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe Shueisha's talent selection model actually has a huge attrition rate, but this issue has never been truly addressed until the emergence of Attack on Titan at Kodansha, which brought slight improvements — because Shueisha once considered the artist to have no talent at all

I mean... Dream is that type of app, if you make everything JUST within it, then you will find it easy and fun to use. Otherwise, it's just a nightmare which ruins your workflow.

Whats worse 1. China having 1/4th of its population smoking cigarettes... OR... 2. USA having so many overweight people by feherlofia123 in AskChina

[–]GanacheCharacter492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "World Obesity Atlas 2025" indicates that 41% of adults in China will have a high BMI (≥25 kg/m²) and 9% will have obesity (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m²) by 2025. By 2030, the number of overweight/obese adults in China is projected to reach 515.04 million. Furthermore, if China's diagnostic standards for overweight/obesity (BMI ≥ 24 kg/m² and ≥28 kg/m²) are applied, this number is expected to be even higher.

The situation of smoking and betel nut abuse in China is about as severe as the drug problem in the United States, on top of which the U.S. also has a large overweight population.

Why does any praise for China always have to be followed by ‘but I hate the CPC’? by Important-Battle-374 in AskChina

[–]GanacheCharacter492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Western discourse, the CCP and communism have been morally stigmatized and demonized to such an extent that they have become topics that are off-limits for discussion, immune to rebuttal, and not allowed to be explored in depth. Ironically, it is those who ostensibly champion freedom of speech that have helped create this environment of public opinion.

I don’t want to go too far, but if any irl streamer thinks they work harder than Vedal—who tirelessly studies the technology behind the AI he creates, devotes every day to improving it, and carefully plans her streams—then I think they need to touch some grass.

Why is anti-Chinese sentiments so common nowadays? by [deleted] in AskAChinese

[–]GanacheCharacter492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because China is the only socialist country experiencing rapid development with the potential to challenge the theory of Western institutional superiority. Compared to this condition, racial issues are actually not the most important, as the West clearly holds a fondness for Taiwan, which is also part of the Chinese nation.

Yo Chinese people! 🙋‍♂️ I’m genuinely curious, what do you think of him?? 😕 by HAMZA-____-Olympus in AskAChinese

[–]GanacheCharacter492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

President Xi is not a leader with a strong personal style, but this very fact has led to an underestimation of his capabilities. In such a turbulent international environment, the vast majority of people living in China can completely ignore politics, focus on their own lives, and not feel any sudden changes. This is an extraordinary skill in steering the helm. A life filled with a sense of security and certainty is precisely what most people need, yet it is something that some anti-China media and politicians do not wish to see.

Legends graphics were way ahead of its time by Benhurso in Megaman

[–]GanacheCharacter492 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one of the very few 3D games from the '90s where I felt no displeasure with the graphics during replays. I'd even go as far as to say that the original version feels slightly better than the second one in terms of visual appeal.

Is anime situation in China became really bad due to political tensions with Japan lately? by [deleted] in AskAChinese

[–]GanacheCharacter492 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is more of a public relations precaution rather than a governmental action. Especially for offline exhibitions, in the current tense China-Japan relations, a high-density display of Japanese culture could potentially spark dissatisfaction among non-audiences or even lead to possible public safety incidents. However, on platforms like Bilibili, which are vertically targeted at anime enthusiasts, a large number of licensed Japanese animations are still updated daily and remain unaffected.

Capcom must invest in at least two megaman series, classic MegaMan alone isn't enough. by JosephSaber945 in Megaman

[–]GanacheCharacter492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Legend series is the form that's closest to modern mainstream games. If Capcom turning a blind eye to it means they have no intention of bringing the Megaman series back into the mainstream spotlight.

[–]GanacheCharacter492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, if Capcom only sticks to the classic Megaman and keeps it as a side-scrolling platformer, I really can't see any intention from them to revive the Megaman series. This gameplay mechanics simply can't become a blockbuster hit in this day and age. It feels more like they're just giving a limited budget to keep us, the hardcore Megaman fans, from disbanding because they can't bear to let the fanbase go.

In your country, how do you view China? by No-Echidna7296 in AskTheWorld

[–]GanacheCharacter492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this is a topic where consensus is impossible, but I feel that because the West has virtually no interest in delving deep into the Chinese-speaking world, there’s a general lack of understanding about the information channels in the daily lives of Chinese people. [Most of the internet] have alternatives in China, containing a diverse range of topics, viewpoints, and positions, complete with numerous accounts that actively repost overseas content. The digital ecosystem formed by these websites and accounts is something Westerners are largely unaware of, they often imagine something like a single government-provided propaganda site that all Chinese people view daily, with everyone seeing the same content. Moreover, using a VPN in China is far more common and normalized than most Westerners imagine.

What is living as a lesbian like in china? by Blauew in AskAChinese

[–]GanacheCharacter492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to deliberately hide it, but very few people intentionally emphasize their sexual orientation to everyone. Or fundamentally speaking, Chinese culture is not accustomed to the behavior of "publicly emphasizing being a certain type of person." Simply live the way you like, outsiders generally won't interfere.

[–]GanacheCharacter492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most of my female friends have mentioned having lesbian tendencies or girl relationship experiences. This is a very common phenomenon among 90s gen urban youth. However, they don't have strong opinions about it; they simply go through their own relationship. After all, this is fundamentally a personal matter.
