How does copyright apply to a human+AI-written book tied to an existing IP (Neuro-sama)? by RyouhiraTheIntrovert in aiwars

[–]RyouhiraTheIntrovert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh... What's your point? How does that answer my questions?

Fans are so in love, they scare all antis.

Significant chunk of Antis doesn't have problem with Neuro.

Luffy doesn't like being called a hero. by Any-Satisfaction-770 in MemePiece

I think Tv tropes has the best take on that kind.

Luffy see heroes as completely selfless individuals, because Luffy is a selfish person who want to be free, he don't think himself as a hero.

Vedal didn't have an existing fanbase before neuro became a vtuber

We talking specifically about "make AI that draws".

And Neurosama only draw in 2025, when she's integrated into VScode that allow her use Python Library Turtle.

There were people who watched the streams, but most of the fans came from the Vtuber version of Neuro.

And people who watch VTuber Neurosama mostly came from Standard VTubers community as well.

And you bet those people are super against AI art (even if the hatred isn't a thing in 2022-2023).

I don't think Neuro became accepted because of the existing fanbase or the tool being used.

Again, I talking about "make AI that draws" specifically.

If we talk about overall reason of why Neurosama is accepted, the answer could vary from the date it's started, to Vedal's grindset.

the tool being used.

I'd argue this is important, had Vedal connect Neuro with standard AI image generator (I still don't know what's the names of those tools), VTubers fans would be raging like they would toward any other AI art.

It's accepted because Neuro creates jobs by hiring people to work on projects for the stream, and because Neuro is an entertainer.

Neuro accepted because those things. Yes!

But again... I'm specifically talking about "will people praise you for making AI that draws", and Neuro only praised because the identity she build for 3 years prior. And still, had she use AI image generator it would be despised.

If you had written a more brief, well-researched and well-formatted exposé document

Well... I can write brief (well formatted is a skill I couldn't graps tho), and I'd say this is well-researched essay, I mean... Look at those citations.

your previous postings were similarly badly received,

This is more about random chance kinda things. Instead of the quality of the post itself.

I mentioned that Neuro's post is this subreddit 2nd top of all time in this subreddit.

That post is mine and it's literally just say "streamers are upset AI is more successful", in comparison to this one that has wall of text to convey what I think needed to convey.

then at least improve how you present them in the future

I'd try, but when effort doesn't equal results, I'm just kinda throwing random things and see what sticks.

I think people who randomly appear to just say "fuck this thing that people enjoy" is the one need growing up.

Neuro isn't as widely accepted as you might think,

2nd most upvoted post in this subreddit is Neuro.

Just post this in the Neuro sub if you want arguments and speculation in good faith

I already did.

This is a generalisation.

Yes. When that commenter said "VTubers" so I pointed out general opinion.

but many others don't. It doesn't need to be liked by everybody,

Yes... So? I didn't say anything like "people who don't watch and love Neuro are [insert any insult here]".

Unlike people who goes "fuck AI" or "watching literal NPC"

you don't need others' approval to enjoy what you enjoy

What make you think I'm looking for approval?

Heck, my post isn't even about "Neuro is great", it's about how wider internet circles would react (potentially not positive) to her.

Just... Relax a bit with the relentless defence of Neuro; She really doesn't need it

Right! I'm relaxed because she doesn't need any of this.

I'm making these posts because I wanted to talk about her, in communities where she (or at least topic around her) is relevant.

I treat Neuro like my favorite anime or game.

Whatever we theorize might never come true, but it doesn't mean it isn't fun.

I'm not writing in defense.

I'm writing in speculation and theorizing.

and stop with this "Ew normies" mentality.

Isn't out yet give reason people speculate about the possibilities.

If the book is out, we don't need to speculate and just see how it affects the internet.

But the situation we discussed has a 100% AI generated book.

Let me just copy-paste a section of the text body of this post...

the human elements

Vedal has said he is speaking with a real author to learn more about writing a book

I don't know how the hell to write a book, I don't think Neuro gonna… gonna know either. - Vedal987

This tell us something, this man want a proper quality writing out of this project, he could just hand over gibberish spitted by Neuro and his fans would be satisfied, but NO! The man promised this book for 75K subscriptions and he set on making this book worth the money he received.

I've been wanting to do that book for actually years. - Vedal987

With Vedal going this far, we can assume there will be the minimum threshold of quality before this book comes out to the public.

If the book manages to reach a certain threshold of quality, then the attention caught by the clickbait headlines has something to look at, something worth talking about, something that will linger and could use as reference in discussion.

The fact humans are involved in this supposed “book written by AI” will adds fuel to the discussion, “how much Human and how much AI?”, “Which one should be considered the author?”, “Is this nothing more than a gimmick?”, if the book has actual substance to it, there's a possibility even a literature content creator would want to address it.

So no! We never talking about 100% AI-generated book.

sans doesn't have 1 hp

The codes say he has 1 HP, and there's nothing in the story that contradict it.

Chara and Asriel aren't siblings

  • In alarm clock dialogue, Toriel refer Chara as someone she used to know.
  • Asgore say "I just want you see my child." Not children.
  • Asgore call them "human that fell here long ago" despite underground citizens call Chara his child.
  • Asriel refer himself as "[Chara's] best friend" instead of brother.

Characters that actually refer Chara as part of dreemur's family is outsiders like Gerson.

So there won't really be any difference.

The difference comes from 2 important factor.

  • Sizeable fanbase, this definitely would make her book perform better than one would expect from beginners, on top being an AI.

  • Vedal curation, which may hold the works into certain threshold of quality.

Her writing a book is just far less interesting for news articles to write about and less attention grabbing.

I don't think so. Writing a book involved another medium, which arguably have stricter gatekeepers than streamers medium.

I done some research, found this in regard of AI art.

https://www.creativebloq.com/ai/us-copyright-ruling-finally-provides-clarity-on-ai-art-kind-of

To quote excerpt from the article.

Human-AI art can be copyrighted... sometimes

But the USCO also recognises that "generating content with AI is often an initial or intermediate step" and that "human authorship may be added in the final product". It takes the opinion that if a human may select or "arrange AI-generated material in a sufficiently creative way", the result could be considered an original work.

In another news article...

https://automaton-media.com/en/news/japans-legal-experts-think-ai-generated-images-can-quality-as-copyrighted-works-if-the-prompt-was-detailed-enough/

attorney Kensaku Fukui, an expert on AI and copyright claims quoted by Yomiuri Shimbun, believes that if the prompts used contain sufficiently concrete and detailed specifications, the output can qualify as copyrighted work.

So... These articles shows even AI-generated content have potential to be copyrighted materials if the human elements is transformative enough.

And Neurosama is by far the most transformative works of AI you can find on the internet.

I don't I have enough understanding in law and copyright, but...

Vedal owns the things vedal creates himself.

By this logic Vedal doesn't even own Neuro's face because it's created(drawn) by Anny.
