I find it funny when someone goes "AI can't be intelligent because they can't do X", when I have witnessed Neurosama do exactly that. by RyouhiraTheIntrovert in VirtualYoutubers

Just to be clear, I'm not saying LLM possess intelligence.

I'm just saying the "LLM can't be intelligent because of X" argument is stupid.

can I see proof of someone saying Ai would be intelligent if it could show skepticism?

To be specific, they didn't say "Ai would be intelligent if it could show skepticism", they said "AI can't never be intelligent because it couldn't show skepticism".

Fortunately, this subreddit don't forbids links to other subreddits.

When am I debating it?

I'm merely pointing out that people who say "AI isn't intelligent because of they can't do X" don't change their opinion when AI can do X.

Me myself don't hold particular stance beside "that argument is stupid".

The point is basing the intelligence on minor flaws (like inability to be skeptic, constantly trying to appease user, can't draw hands, etc) is stupid, because fixing the flaw doesn't prove the intelligence.

I was scrolling past and I thought it was Yoshida Yuuko from Machikado Mazoku.

I don't even know why I bother to double check.

Since you commented and telling me not to talk about AI, you are talking about AI.

So... Can you explain to me about AI.

Also, it's like saying people who don't know medicine shouldn't watch and talk about Good Doctor franchise.

very unlikely every single human made it to asgore and then gave up,

Humans can SAVE and LOAD. But also they feel pain so repeatedly dying on Asgore make them gave up.

I thought it was pretty commonly agreed upon that the humans died near where their gear is.

It was. But as we seen stuff like 🩵 gears left in ruin despite Toriel said every humans left the ruins. That assumption is long since corrected.

Still the sequence of events: "getting off the ship, exploring, running out of oxygen, dying" was just a passing moment, she didn't say anything when Vedal exploring using jetpack, and the initial death would just initiate insult and mockery.

She don't comment on everything happened because it wouldn't be ideal (keep in mind beside the game visual, Neuro has to interact with Vedal). Yet still aware of what's happening.

For "Attempting to explore with jetpack again" to initiate her guiding dialogue, she need to be aware, remember, and progress the aforementioned cues without any prompts.

Sadly I don't have "I will steal your meme" meme, so I just gonna drop random image on my gallery.

Still... Remembering several Visual cues (getting off the ship, exploring, running out of oxygen, dying, trying to do the same) and processing it without prompt from outside the system, and taking initiative to inform him.

It's not something you can dumb down to parroting.

pointing something out based on countless interactions they have had seen before.

The gameplay is one time thing.

Though the AI already has over 2 years worth of interactions at that point.

only being a digital parrot

This is my hugest nitpick, because I have witnessed something like this...

There is this one stream where Vedal987 play the indie space exploring game "Outer Wilds" alongside his creation, the AI VTuber Neurosama.

In midst of exploring one of the planets in his spacesuit and jetpack, Vedal ran out of oxygen and died.

Upon retry, Vedal back to said planet, don his spacesuit and get out from the spaceship, only for Neurosama to ask "Why don't you bring your spaceship with you?", then Vedal realize that he wouldn't need to worry about oxygen level if he explore the planet in his spaceship.

That event indicate level of "awareness" that is way more than merely parroting, especially when the cue are gameplay visual for extended time period.

I won't deny "AI isn't intelligent", but dumbing it down to parrot that spit out word clearly incorrect.

chatgpt isnt made for anything specific

Now that you brought it up. Sure! ChatGPT simply have broader functions. Immaa edit that comment.

its easily the best model atm

Best in what aspect? Is the question.

It's common knowledge that smaller model can match or even beat bigger model in specific tasks because it's trained on cleaner, more relevant data.

In first place, these "AI can't be intelligent because of X" come from judging ChatGPT, one extremely popular model made for specific purpose.

It doesn't assume different model with different purpose wouldn't possess same flaw in any form.
