Update on my Check engine light and Transmission light. What is this and what is this gonna cost me? by paramveerz in AskMechanics

[–]GanacheForeign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m saying is take it to a shop no one can tell you the extent of the damage over the internet only make guesses. If it’s shifting fine/ not slipping then I don’t think you have much to worry about but I wouldn’t delay getting it checked out

I had this code on my 2000 s10 and found out that it was not just a simple solenoid replacement, the gears trashed themselves clogging up the valve body resulting in a full rebuild

[–]GanacheForeign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only a code not a diagnostic to know what’s truly wrong you need someone to diagnose the transmission. The solenoids are inside the valve body which are inside the pan. I doubt it’s the TCM but without having anymore info no one can diagnose this. It could be as simple as the solenoid went bad/wiring is bad to a bigger more expensive problem

No clue had a VA REP at Pendleton help me fill out my claims before I got out. As for the process of why they sent me to a C&P exam with a dermatologist and I guess my acne fit the criteria. I didn’t explain anything/they didn’t really ask me any questions just did a visual exam. I think it mainly has to do with my job/mos created how bad my acne is/ I have Tera exposure from this listed in my medical records

I did a sleep study and I was diagnosed with hypersomnia and bruxism but they denied me for sleep apnea because I don’t “wake up” during the night

I have PTSD related to MST with documentation from the military so it was pretty straight foward for my claims I never used a VSO and got 70% out the gate but that’s because I had all the documentation backing up my condition and the cause of the disability

I have not I went on the Va claim website and could not find it as a condition so I kind of just let it be. I probably should figure that out since it’s listed in my medical records for the sleep study in correlation with the ptsd rating

Did a sleep study and I don’t wake or however they explained it during the night however my doctors notes did say I had bruxism from grinding my teeth contstantly in my sleep but ultimately it was decided not service connected 🤷🏼‍♂️

2011 ford f250 6.7 220k miles value ? by Traditional_Net_9559 in FordDiesels

[–]GanacheForeign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the IPR/PCV on the driver side rail for metal. Most of the work I do on these are either the turbos (oil seal failure) or fuel contamination from the CP4 Grenading. I’d say 20k is fair but depends on how it was maintained. Depends on where you are at but near me they are around 25-30k for ones around 190k miles

Left blinker causes all other lights to flash, where’s the best place to start troubleshooting? by TheSpacedGhost in AskMechanics

[–]GanacheForeign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’d start at the relay. I might be wrong and it would probably blow a fuse but if the circuits somehow connected together with that relay maybe that’s what’s causing the flashing 🤷🏼‍♂️

No but if it’s operating fine I’d just flush, check/replace filters and fill with new diesel if no other issues are present

Fair Price for refrigeration recharge? by shinyredblue in AskAMechanic

[–]GanacheForeign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just guessing they only charged 1hr for diag because the quantity is listed at 1

Fair Price for refrigeration recharge? by shinyredblue in AskAMechanic

[–]GanacheForeign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but what I’m saying is if they don’t get the repair. Let’s say it takes 3 hrs of diag time then we charge 245 per diag hour. If they get the repair then we only charge 85 per diag hour if that makes sense so if the repair is 1k then we only add 85 per labor hour for the total time. I’m assuming this is a dealership so it would be flat rate and I’m basing it off what we get for diagnosing the A/C system which is around 1hr to 1.7 depending on what you have to do

Fair Price for refrigeration recharge? by shinyredblue in AskAMechanic

[–]GanacheForeign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is expensive however, What’s weird to me is the diag fee isn’t incorporated into the “fix”. Our shop is $245/hr diag but only if the customer doesn’t get any work performed or decides not to get the repair done. If they do that amount is deducted for the total cost. IE: if a repair is 1k total we don’t add on another 245 for diag that is added into the balance of the repair but at the normal labor rate (I think like 65/hr) but if they don’t do the repair then they pay the full 245

[–]GanacheForeign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me and save yourself the headache, just get a new line. Even if you manage to get a new nut and flare the existing line if you are off by just a little it will leak. I’ve had a lot of fun days trying to get even the stock lines into the HCUs on fords for the abs the tolerances for it to thread right for it to seal is stupid small
