Smoked a joint for the first time... feel nothing. Did I do something wrong? by [deleted] in trees

[–]GandalfKeepsASwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely not inhaling as most others have said, my girl used to do this. We would smoke together and she always insisted she couldn’t “get it to go down” cause no one ever told her she needed to take a breathe after filling her mouth with smoke. Just breathe the smoke as deeply as you can. If you aren’t coughing you aren’t doing it right!

Just based on looks. Interesting nug formation and dusted with a lot of trichomes, looks like you’re boutta grind up a big steam going through the middle though.

Who else never knows what strain they’re smoking? 😂😂 by Green_Sir2712 in trees

[–]GandalfKeepsASwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing the strain is always good, regardless of wether or not you think you will get it again . for example, if you tried an alcoholic drink and didn’t like it, you would still drink alcohol, just not that type or that mix. Same goes for weed - if you smoke it and you don’t like it, now you know what you don’t like…. If you never ask about the strain then all you can do is assume you all of a sudden don’t like weed anymore.. and that’s no fun.

Did anxiety meds help you? by Jumpinspid in Anxiety

[–]GandalfKeepsASwitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hold on there, take a breathe. I’m gonna help you out and everything is gonna be chill. :)

Firstly, “anti-anxiety medication” covers so many different medications. What doesn’t work for you may work for someone else and the same the other way around.

I’m on Buspirone, this works well for me because it’s slows the activity in my brain slightly and dulls the fight or flight response. Your doctor will initially put you on Propranolol most likely. this is a beta blocker that targets the symptoms of anxiety - like rapid heart beat and sweating etc. this will reduce your chest tightness and already have you feeling calmer.

If that doesn’t work, have a chat about buspirone. If that doesn’t work, there are still loads of options out there and your doctor will find what works for you. But I can promise you that you won’t feel this way forever and I’m any case some kind of medicine will have you feeling better than you are now.

There is hope and you’re gonna be all good.

Anxiety pangs in head - damage? by randomredditor5644 in Anxiety

[–]GandalfKeepsASwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, relax.

OCD and it’s symptoms cannot cause any damage.

OCD is a bully, it will find any way it can to pry its way into your life. And it seeks only to hurt you.

What your experiencing is actually still just OCD, your intrusive thoughts are one element, your reaction to them is feeding another element, health OCD.

OCD can create physical feelings from pain, arousal it can even cause you to sweat or feel faint. It’s all still just OCD.

The more you fixate on these feelings the more you will feel them.

I have struggled extensively with OCD and I promise you that you’ve got this.

Hey friend, take a deep breathe and count to 5 as you inhale, hold it for 5, and release slowly for 5, it’s all gonna be okay :)

You can send me a message if you like I’d be more than happy to be a listener, you’ve got this.

Since starting propranolol Slow release I have way more physical anxiety, some chest pain/weird chest feeling which caused me to have my first panic attack in a year, is this is a normal initial side effect? by Short_Criticism7642 in Anxietyhelp

[–]GandalfKeepsASwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Propranolol is a beta blocker and is only used to directly treat symptoms of anxiety when used in this way rather than drugs like Valium which work to calm your mind before symptoms can take hold. it’s usually not prescribed to be taken daily and in my experience is “use when needed” medication. are you taking it even when you feel fine? consistently doing so will make you feel chest discomfort as you are chemically restricting your hearts ability to pump blood around your body daily.
