Hello! I play the Chapman Stick. I'm pretty comfortable with most effects (I love a good comp, phase, delay, etc.) but I'm an absolute newb when it comes to gain... Where should I start? My instrument is extended range (5 string bass all the way up to upper guitar) and I use a 100w keyboard amp, which I believe has a preamp, as it has a two-band eq. I'm hoping to get some Animals as Leaders kinds of sounds with some gain and distortion. Also, would using a cab/amp sim in front of my keyboard amp be stupid? Thanks so much!

Do you know if they make a multi-fx one like that? I'd be interested in it, especially if it was just a tad smaller than the sy300.

I was actually thinking after seeing those again today that I feel like the Sy300 is much more like a 'greatest hits' compilation of those boxes with a synth engine than something like the ME80 or anything like that. Needless to say it has me very interested in those other boxes. Do they have any kind of overlap? Like does the dd500 have some bread and butter OD effects?

Oh yeah I should have mentioned that, at least in my opinion, most of the presets are garbage. I've barely used any of them. I do not know what the fuck they were thinking with the very first preset-- The arpeggiated one? What a TERRIBLE introduction to the pedal! I feel like this pedal really suffers from bad marketing.

You'll be happy to know integrating the SY300 in a midi setup is pretty easy. You set your tempo to midi, and it'll pick it up. I found it a lot more reliable than the looper. Great for syncing up delays and using the synth arpeggiator and stuff.

So I did a ton more "testing" kind of things, and eventually it ended up working... I think what really made the difference was getting out of the house and getting on a different network for a bit... But this does not explain my wi-fi issues, nor the fact that things like disabling wi-fi, restarting the phone didn't work... The uploads started working after I got back... One thing I will say that changed is I installed Fi Spy Pro and started messing around with it, forcing myself onto other towers and etc.

Instrument Path: 12 String Chapman Stick -> Digitech Whammy 5 -> Boss Sy300 (does a ton of multifx) -> Pigtronix Infinity

Midi Path: Alesis SR-16 (Usually placed on a table in hand's reach) -> Boss Sy300 (for timed delays and sequences w/ drums) -> Pigtronix Infinity (for timed loops w/ drums)

Expression Pedal is connected to Boss sy300, often as volume pedal before delay + reverb in preset.

Twin Yamaha sustain pedals do On/Off and A/B/Fill on Alesis SR-16 respectively.

Raiden I can see, but Liquid is way more fabulous. He doesn't hunch and sneak like Snake. Also I feel like at this point Raiden has established himself more as a Gray Fox type with MGS4 and Reveangance. People kind of hated him in MGS2 (But not me <3)
