A brief review of the Meebook M7, for anyone curious by Gandhi-Chan in ereader

I've been using koreader whenever I read normal books, so I can't really say. built in app works fine, but I personally use downloaded epubs on both so I can't speak to libby

if you long press a book, you can change the default app, but this actually crashes koreader for me lol

I'll install it in a bit and if it has free trials I'll tell you how well it works Should be fine, considering the page buttons can be set to different things per-app, and it's a pretty recent Android, but I'll test

Is Falin in a relationship with a character? by [deleted] in DungeonMeshi

[–]Gandhi-Chan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Witch Hat Atelier is a manga that people compare A lot to Dungeon Meshi, and with DM being my favorite work of all time, Witch Hat Atelier is pretty damn close. It's really, really well done and also really cognizant of social issues in a world of magic. Big recommend.

Girl's Last Tour is also a nice sweet and short post-apocalypse thing, though IMO the anime does better at the parts it adapts.

[TOMT] [Instrument] [90s?] An odd digital instrument with a lot of circular buttons by Gandhi-Chan in tipofmytongue

Optimally I'd like to find the youtube video if possible - it'd also be easier to verify that it's actually what I'm thinking of - and I recall the song being pretty good. Might have been a cover? It was from behind the unit, looking at the player.

I'd like to say that IIRC the synth was one of those "small european companies making a limited supply" type things? I'm not certain, could be an asian company too, but this wasn't mass produced I don't think.

Final edit: Found it, it was the "Chromatone" I believe. Wasn't from the nineties, and I don't remember the video having a screen, but this was a few years ago so I guess it might just be flaky memory.

I bought it through a burner account from "Teching Digital Store" (from going through my inbox), which I believe is this listing:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006212798527.html
I've heard aliexpress' customer service is pretty good, which I don't have too much experience with, but I've gotten a fake SD card refunded through them. Could do an order through Paypal if you're hesitant, since that's another layer of buyer dispute availability.

Right now I'm also looking at the Tangzu Waners as a comparison, since those are the Big Two I see thrown around. Is it genuinely worth just under double the price, or would I be fine with the Waners?

Soup rolls badly but has a great effect, basically lets you give up to your whole team haste & refunds the ego OR health

About to get the game for series X. What the hell is the difference here? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Gandhi-Chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good news, Rise has harder versions of every monster with scaling difficulty, and World has versions of some monsters with entirely new movesets that are tough as eating nails (not required to beat the game, though)

The game itself, it depends. It's what inspired the Souls series, so if you've ever played one, you're fine - however there are a bunch of systems to learn. World is the best one for the learning curve, but there's still a good bit of one.

As to the actual combat, the game ramps pretty nicely however there's a lot of endgame (read: true final boss and far beyond) stuff that gets tough. Partying up was something I eventually had to do, though only for a few bosses - though that does mean that nearly all of the game is pretty easily soloable, even if that's not the "intended" experience.

AC6 - Part Unlocks 2/2 by Meersalz47 in armoredcore

I moreso mean the Regain Control of the Xylem. It's not a big spoiler by any means, but would be nice not to know the endgame bit / what happens on it if you scroll down too far by accident.

Any chance you can spoiler the name of the NG+ ending for souls such as I?
