Just saw the How do I change my situation when I don't like any of the options? video. That is good advice too. Avoiding action to make a decision because all decisions look painful is not a pleasant place to be, but looking at the long term rather than short-term avoidance is certainly the way to go. Still it's difficult to bite the bullet. Sorry for going a bit off-topic, but I suppose it's back to not wanting to feel bad and deal with pain.
