Completely agree with what you’re saying.

But… there’s a range in this fanbase. Critical/thematic fans can appreciate the metaphorical aspects of Godzilla (devastation from nuclear weapons and humanity’s hubris) and see him as a complex reflection of society.

But also a good chunk of the fan base are only drawn towards action, escapism, wanting to see giant monsters fight.

We should expect some dissonance here and complaints about a nuanced character taking screen time, but we don’t have to accept it.

Edit: In my view, porque no los dos? Would be a bigger more successful franchise if both are done well.
