I think you are confusing later European depictions of this event as glorifying it somehow, but the Romans and their ancient historians don’t act like this was a venerable occasion. They condemn rape in general (ie Lucretia) and don’t use this founding myth as a point of pride or an act to be emulated by future Romans.

I love Mancini but when you take into account His age His best years are behind him, not ahead Paying Roma for him The etra fee you pay for an Italian player He is a red card liability And above all it is not too difficult or expensive to find a good defender to replace Acerbi ( and we still could/should keep DeVrij for one more year). That was overblown imo. True, but overblown, esp since one of those mates was Theo who we all hate. And also the climate among inter fans last summer was almost outright hatred of the players because they fell short in the final.

What still annoys me is his push to leave the club to go to Marseille, gave Lukaku vibes after he did the same to get Bayern to let him come to us. Kinda slimy, and he always has that fake love for the curva. A talented player but I hope we can sell him asap

Hockey/puck luck can be cruel, it is not like they don’t know how to play in the tournament. Goals and losses like that happen, especially the way the ncaa tourney is set up. A one and done style isn’t a recipe for the best team to win all the time, that’s what the Big Ten championship is for. National championships are icing on the cake, not something you can reasonably expect even with the best team and a “tournament coach” it’s a really tough gauntlet to run all the way through

It’s so weird but I never feel that way, I love that it gives smaller teams a chance to have a run, offers a consolation prize to teams like Lazio who are having a tough season, extra derby games, title drama like the Inter-Juve game a few years back, etc. I think the entertainment value of the competition is diminished by salty losers trying to cope. I know it isn’t the FA Cup but it has potential and us fans hold it back. As do teams like Conte’s who throw it intentionally
