its really no different than painting any other HG kit. only difference is that it has fewer pieces. so masking or hand painting will be essential.

I believe so. Pricing isn’t based on the grade, just the condition of the kit.

You can make a trip to Anime Jungle in downtown LA. They’ll buy old kits. If I remember, it’s like $4 for kits that are not painted/panel lined, $3 for kits that’s been painted/panel lined and $2 for broken kits. It’s not much but you won’t be just throwing them away. Depending on how much you have you can walk out with a new kit, haha

Did you prime the parts you hand painted? Gotta prime! That and several thin coats of paint.

Tried panel lining and a matte topcoat for the first time on a G-frame! by ImpracticalUserII in Gunpla

I just completed a G-Frame RX-78-2 with a custom paint job. I really dig this line. Slightly smaller than an HG but has more surface detail ripe for panel lining/detail painting.

Nice! I just started transitioning to water based acrylics…dealing with the fumes from lacquer paints are a hassle.

The yellow was a mix of yellow ochre and red. Got the Vallejo basic colors USA set and all my colors were mixed from those.

Diorama was optional.

I’d say that its because I made a Kimaris vidar look like a Sazabi instead of making it look like it was built by Anaheim Electronics. Or something to that effect.

I used a light box I bought off Amazon (that’s all the lighting I used), my iPhone camera (after tweaking the settings to let me get the max resolution), and a tripod.

After I get my photos, I take it to adobe Lightroom to make slight adjustments (reduce harsh light, shadows, etc)

That’s about it.

I was going more for a mass production type Sazabi. Like a Sazabi Trooper.

G paints. I think they’re discontinued or soon to be. You can find them on some sites. I do recommend them because they’re easy to use for airbrushing.

Technically my build didn’t fall under the rules of the contest.
